As soon as I stepped into the classroom, I saw people jumping on chairs, people screaming, and paper being thrown around the room. I walked straight to the back row where my seat was and wrapped my backpack around the seat.

"Hey Paper! Sorry, Paige!" Gabrielle screamed from the other side of the room. "I can't wait to rip you open in the speech competition like I ripped open my Kylie Jenner lip kit!" She yelled. "Ooooo! Maybe more like my plastic starbucks cup I threw away!"

She got right in my face. "Either way, I will win." Gabrielle whispered loudly.

I wanted to spit in her face and rip off her high lighted hair. But what's gross is that she uses like a million different hair sprays everyday. I bet her hair feels like a rock. Not a single strand of hair moves during the day. Can you imagine that? Ugh.

"Hay hay hay!" Casandra yelled as she leaned over on my desk. "Ha! Trust me, we WILLLL win the speech thingy. She ain't got nothing on us!"

Casandra is the most country person you will ever meet. She is always wearing some new pair of boots boots she got in Memphis and is always showing me her guitar picks.

"Yeah. Gabrielle is so overrated in her pink sparkly lipgloss that looks like it belongs on a seven year old." I laughed silently. Casandra scream-laughed, she is one of those people with a ridiculously loud laugh. You could probably hear her laugh in another country.

We did nothing interesting in class today. Nothing other than worksheets and more worksheets.

After class we had a 15 minute free time break in the locker room. I pulled out the brown journal Jacob had gotten me and I ran my fingers along it. "Oohh! What you got there?" Asked Casandra looking at the book. "Jacob gave it to me" I said pushing my bangs from my face. "He is so in love with you!! Hold on hold on!" She said as she ran towards Jacob. "N-no!" I started to say but it was useless.

She was already half way between me and him. I watched as Casandra ran into Jacob and squeezed his arm. After a few minutes of watching them talk and Casandra laughing, she squealed and skipped back to me.

"Girl, get this, look in the back of the book." Casandra squealed spinning around. I opened the book to the last page. It read,

Promise? -Jacob

"Promise what?" I asked. "Honey, you know what he's talking about. He looooves youuuuu!" She said as she read over the word Promise a million times.

I turned my head towards Jacob. His cheeks were red and he was looking down at his feet. "I mean, I'm annoying. Why would he like me?" I asked. "Paige, you're not annoying. It took me like a week when I met you to get a word out of you." She said rolling her eyes smiling.

I started to think. How could Jacob really like me? I mean, we've been best friends forever. I mean he is pretty cute, but there are a million other girls in the school prettier than me.

"Cmon! Go up to him!" "I'm not going up to him." I said. "Why not?" Asked Casandra.

"Everyone else would talk to him.. Everyone but me."

"What are you talking about? You can talk to him. I know you don't like to.. At all. But it's worth a short. Better safe than sorry."

"I don't want to talk about it. I can't talk, my mind won't let me." I whispered.

Right after I said that sentence, it seemed like time froze.
