Kayla's POV
I was shot so I turned to the one person who was always there for me, even during hard times. " Chicago P.D. Intelligence this is Mouse how may I help you" "umm hey mouse is Jay Halstead there" " sorry kayla he's not her at the moment can I take a message for him for when he gets back in like ten minutes" " umm tell him I've been shot" I say " kiddo hold on I am sending a text message to him and he should be able to get to you in a few" " than" the rest of the thanks trailed off as I pass out.
Jay picks up his phone and checks his texts. "Erin I got to go handle some personal business and I want you there but I need to drive" " Maybe I will let you drive if you tell me where we are going" "an old friend of mine from when I was in the rangers and was deployed over in Afghanistan to protect the covert kids. Did I tell you about them" " no Halstead you didn't ".
They finally got to Kayla's house. "The doors locked" Lindsay said as Jay didn't even hesitate to kick the door in. And right as jay and Erin walk in right away all they see is blood and my soon to be lifeless body. "This is Lindsey, yeah Shay I will text you an address where we are." "They will be here in ten minutes, Jay this is not your fault that, that they are not alive, that Kayla is not in the best of shape." " We lost touch two years ago and I never thought I'd see her again and I" "Coming in" shay yells out to the detectives. " hey Jay you ok" a familiar voice says " you called Antonio" Jay says to Gabby " And Voight, and Ruzek and Olinksy and Atwater and Mouse and Burgess." They were wondering why we were leaving Molly's and you guys hadn't arrived yet so we told them. " She's barley got a pulse" Shay yells.
Kayla wakes up to no one familiar at her bed side. " Halstead has been by your side the three days you've been out and I don't think that he will think it's cool that you woke up while he was gone". " my sister Sara and my mom" Kayla says with sadness in her voice Erin covers an eye. " No no they can't be gone" Kayla says and with that the conversation is over.
