Kayla's POV
"Hey" I say walking up to the desk sergeant "you need to fill this and this" platt says before the whole desk starts blowing up with phone calls. "Hey go tell intelligence there's a active shooting at Chicago elementary school." Platt says as I run up the stairs and up to intelligence. "What's up" Erin asks "there's an active school shooting at Chicago elementary." "Tack up" Voight says as everyone goes downstairs "that means you to" Voight says motioning for me to come. I go down the stairs and am immediately helped putting on my vest by Jay. "It's a little big but you should be fine." Voight says. "Here's a gun" Antonio says handing me a M16 assault rifle. "Thanks." I say "clip these to your belt" Ruzek says handing me five cartridges of extra ammunition "is this because I might need it or I'm not a good shoot" I ask as I hop in the back of Halsteads car. " we get there fast and there's a visible entrance we enter threw. "Erin with me Jay and Kayla don't split up." Voight says as we head down a hallway with Antonio and Olinsky. "Cover me" I say as I reach down to a downed victim to check for a pulse which isn't there. "She's gone" I say shots ringing in the distance. We head for the next room and see the doors open and a victim in the door way. "Cover me" I say. "He's got a pulse. I say as Jay pulls him into the classroom. "Please don't shoot us" a student says. "CPD" I say showing him my badge. "Kayla stay here with them. If shots are fired at you put the perp down don't think twice got it" Jay says, locking the door and shutting it behind him. "Do you have a towel or paper towel" I ask the teacher. "No" she responds. "Can I have your scarf I ask the student sitting next to her. She hands it to me. I put it on the wound and press down. I hear shots near the classroom. "Hey press down on the wound and don't stop." I say to the teacher who does what I say. " I raise my gun and point it towards the door. The shooting comes closer and then there's two shots and then a single shot. "Jay you ok" I hear Antonio say "Officer down, I repeat Officer down one shooter fleeing the scene three still in the building" I hear Antonio say. "Kayla were coming to you" Olinsky says over the mics. "Kay" I here Antonio say as I open the door and Jays limping in, bullet in his leg and shoulder. "Jay lay down. "Hey I'm gonna need your hoodie and your sweater I say to two different students. Hey I need two brave volunteers to help me keep him from bleeding." I say as two girls come over. "Ok just keep pressing down no matter what ok." "Ok" the girls say in perfect unison. The fire alarm starts to go off. "Guys don't move" I say "but the fire" " they want you to believe it's a fire but it's not." I say. As we hear shots and screaming. Some students start to cry. "Guys you all are going home tonight if I can help it. They'd have to kill me before I'd let anything happen to you." I say trying to reassure the little 2nd graders.
