Part V

At the same time when Phantasy first met Edmond at the bridge during an early Wednesday morning in Efa, somewhere far away in a distant shadowy land deep into the dead woods was a little boy who found himself awaken on top of a pile of black leaves in a world unfamiliar to him. Dark, scary, cold, a place where young kids shouldn't ever visit at all. Standing up, Devin shivers and sniffs, saying, "Where am I? Phantasy? Phantasy?" He looked around, the forest wasn't like the one he had saw earlier; distorted dead black trees looks like the Craving Hands to him. Disturbing red eyes could be seen in the dark void staring at him nonstop. The cold wind chills him to the point he started to scream, crying out Phantasy's name and running off into the woods, desperately wanting to find way back home, desperately wanting to find a safe place to be in.
Running, fearing everything that is surrounding him. Too scared to even open his eyes and check to see where he is even going. Too terrified of even taking a break from the constant amount of running. Remembering of himself and his protective older sister being pushed into the hole by the horrifying, long, thin black hands with a red eye in the palm. The grinning phantom and her two pets standing there watching. Everything that lead him into this situation. Devin slowly started to hate himself, hating his own weakness and habit of being a crybaby. He always wanted to be stronger, similar with becoming like his favorite superhero and his reliable big sister, Phantasy. But then suddenly, Devin noticed something blue and moving several distances away. He stopped there and became still, looking closer and closer. The figure is tiny and illuminatingly blue. Flapping its wings as it flaps closer around Devin. It's a blue butterfly; the same kind that Devin had stepped on earlier back then. Beautiful and attractive, the kind that made him feel full of regrets. Regrets of accidentally stepping on one. Regrets of never being brave and helpful in his current life of ever being good and useful to anybody, especially Phantasy, who is always there for him. All that he could think about himself is being a wuss every day. He sniffles and shed tears, asking, "Why . . . Why me?"
The blue butterfly flies softly and slowly around him, and then heads towards to a path ahead, leaving him behind. Feeling the need to follow it, Devin started to run, trying to catch up to it, wanting to catch up to it. Feeling braver and encouraged, Devin ran and ran until he noticed a large, dark, structural-like figure close by. When he finally reached to his destination, what he see is an old, worn out, ancient mansion-like building. A gloomy structure in the middle of the creepy woods is more than enough for Devin to runaway home. Unfortunately, Devin has no other place to go to. He looked around to find the blue butterfly, even yelling out, "Blue butterfly?" But there was no luck. So his only other option was to enter the mysterious mansion. He tries to reach for the handle, but it was too far up high for him to reach. So because of that, he looks around to search for something he could stand on. There was a huge rock close by; a rock half his size. Devin walked to where it stands and started to push it. Pushing a rock that size is harder than reaching out to grab the handle after getting there. When he finally managed to grab it and turn it so it would open, the oversized door opened itself, greeting the boy as it moves so he could come in.
As the little boy walks inside the spooky mansion-like building, wanting to find somebody that would willingly help him exit the forest and tell him where he is and how to find Phantasy, he noticed how dark and black the building is and felt cautious and nervous, feeling like he should have just leave. However, as he turned, the doors suddenly shuts by itself, turning the room completely dark like the black abyss. The noise of the door slamming causes Devin to immediately freak out and ran over to the doors, knocking it very hard to the point that he is slamming his fist towards it. Screaming out, "Let me out! Let me out! I wanna leave! I wanna leave!" sadly didn't help. Devin started to cry, hating his own mistake of ever entering a building so suspicious looking. Quietly, cold, solid and white hands reaches out and covers Devin eyes as she whispers, "There, there, I don't want you to cry. Everything will be a lot better for you soon. But for now, take a rest."
