"HEY YOU!"
the bully turned around to see a small brunette girl wearing pigtails and a red corduroy overall skirt with a white my little pony long-sleeved shirt underneath marching towards him. the bully looked at her from head to toe and saw her light-up dora the explorer shoes. the bully laughed at the fact that he was more than a head taller than her and at the fact that she was wearing too childish shoes.
"what are you going to do to him?" she spoke in her tiny and squeaky voice and tried to make an intimidating face. she was certainly the epitome of small, but terrible. the him she was referring to, however, was inside a bucket in the sand box. the bully had managed to fit him there due to the fact that he was so small, just like the girl provoking him right now. she thought that he could easily put her in a bucket like the other boy but of course, she wouldn't want that.
as the bully was taunting her by calling her 'eleanor the bore,' she put her plan into action. she walked up to the bully sweetly but did a very unsweet thing afterwards. what she did?
well, she stepped on the bully's foot, causing him to cry in pain, calling for his momma bear - his words not hers. the girl was determined to rescue the poor boy that was stuck in the bucket. she quickly pulled him out as the bucket fell onto the sand box. the little boy was astonished, he thought that the girl who saved him was amazing, and adorable at that. she then grabbed his hand and ran away from the sand box and to the front steps of the school on the opposite end of the yard.
as they reached their destination, the girl looked back to the bully who was still crying in pain. she giggled and then turned to the boy she rescued. he had green eyes which was a contrast to his light brown hair. he was wearing a checkered polo and tan pants with diego the explorer shoes. she found him charming, especially when she saw his shoes. she was probably the biggest fan of both dora and diego, she then realized that she was still holding his hand so she quickly let go. she was embarrassed but apparently, the boy had another idea.
the little boy hugged her with his small and lanky arms and he whispered, "you saved me from the bully." the girl didn't know how to reply so she simply patted his back. when the little boy let her go, she just introduced herself.
"the name's ellie," she smiled politely and offered her small hand for him to shake. he took her hand into his and introduced himself too. with a courteous nod and a grin, he said, "i'm tristan."
