"It was nothing." Ivan insists when we all get back to Boulevard Park. I had told the boys what had happened. They weren't happy. "I'm fine."

"Fine with two black eyes." Kip retorts, "You look like you got mowed over by a bus."

"At least let me fix that eye of your's so your mother doesn't freak." Jasmine says she pulls out her overly abundant makeup kit.

"How bout no?" Ivan says stepping behind me. "I've come home plenty of times with black eyes, today will be no different."

"Have you ever gone home with two black-eyes?" I ask him skimming my thumb over his eye again before reaching into the cooler we'd picked up with ice in it and putting another ice pack to his eye. He's been alternating eyes the ice packs go on. "The closest you got to it was when we had to take you to the emergency room after the Avenues and you boys got into a rumble outside in the parking lot and your sunglasses shattered and glass got into your eye."

"You sat in the room as they washed my eyes out." Ivan says. "That hurt worse than this," He pulls the ice pack off his eye, "I am fine. I promise." I put the ice pack back on his eye and give him a look. He rolls his other eye and nods.

"We could always just avoid them, stay on our own territory." Luci says.

"They're not going to confine us to our side of the city. The mall and the school are in the middle. Even if our territory is bigger, they've also got the best auto shops in the city. And it's on their territory." Johnathan says.

"No one knows cars like the Avenues' that's for sure." Ivan agrees, "But aside from that, there really isn't a reason to interact with them."

"Pap at 10 O'clock." Kristi says averting her eyes to the oncoming paparazzi. "Time to move." We all stand up and head to the car.

"Who am I dropping off first?" Johnathan asks, "Any takers?"

"Could you drop me off at the performing arts center?" Jasmine asks, "I have a group coming in about an hour from now, I have to get ready."

"To the theatre." Johnathan says.

A phone begins to go off in the basket where all our phones rest so we're not using them in the car.

"Sis, it's Mother." My brother tells me. "Answer it." He tosses me the phone and I answer it.

"Hello Mother," I greet with a smile.

"We just found an interesting article about a couple Boulevards' getting into a rumble with a couple of Avenues', and one of them ended up in the hospital, care to explain?"

"First of all, that was spring break, second you knew Greg was in the hospital, I told you after I got through talking to his parents." I tell her, "Looks like the pap is slacking off. They're over a week behind."

"Buy guys." Jasmine says getting out taking her makeup kit from the back of the car. She waves before disappearing inside the building.

"I need you and your brother home soon, we've got a benefit in the next county tonight." She says hanging up.

"And you're just now telling me?" I ask pulling the phone away from my ear, "Did you know we had a benefit tonight?"

"On a school night? A Wednesday night Benefit?" He asks me. "What time? What are we supposed to wear? Is Ivan coming?"

"Don't know." I answer, "She told me about the benefit then hung up."

"To the Keaton Manor." Johnathan says as we being our drive.
