Marisa
"Isn't this just lovely?" Jasmine asks as she smiles at the vibrant blue sky. "The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and there are no Avenue's in sight."
"Even they're smart enough not to cross into Boulevard territory." Luci says.
There are thirteen families at the top of the Boulevard ladder of success. My family is one of the top, at the very top Ranking # 1. My friends Kristi, Luci, Jasmine, and Isadora, all juniors in high school and at the top of the Boulevard ladder.
"Marisa, come on, the boys are waiting." Kristi calls over to me. I look up from my homework and she's motioning for me to come over. I quickly gather all my books and papers from Boulevard Field. I quickly head over to them. "About time." Kristi teases.
"Lets go. I don't want to carry these books any longer than I have to." I tell them as we head to our bikes and I put all my books in the basket. I'll put them in the boys car later.
"They're at the mall already, come on." Luci says pushing off before we all race to the mall. I park and lock my bike before pulling out the spare key for the boys car. I put my books in the trunk and watch the Avenue's destroy the mall parking lot on their motorcycles. The other girls stop and watch them in horror and I quickly make my way inside.
"Hey boys." I greet Ivan, Holland, Greggor, Jonathan, and Kip.
"Hey Marisa," they all greet with a smile. "Hey sis." Holland says giving me a hug.
I walk over to my boyfriend Ivan and give him a hug and kiss his cheek.
"So, what have you been up to?" Ivan whispers in my ear as he wraps his arm around my shoulder.
"Homework, my sketches, daydreaming, ignoring the Avenue's outside in the lot. I've been very busy." I joke.
"I can tell, show me your sketches later?" Ivan asks.
"If I have to." I pretend to be sad about it. He just laughs and I shove him, not that it does much and he just laughs harder causing me to laugh with him. "Of course I'll show them to you."
"The perks of being your best friend and your boyfriend." He says as he detours into the music shop, the rest of the group continues to the clothes shops.
"I don't understand why the Avenues are so irksome. They're basically trashing that parking lot with all their bikes and the air pollution from their bikes is killing the environment."
"Why do you think we spend most of our time walking, biking, or skating."
"Because it's fun, and scenic?" I joke, "But why should we be the ones balancing out their horrid pollution?"
"We're the only ones that it would make a difference by." Ivan says he picks up a record and studies it. "I think I'm going to check this one out. "
"Okay, I'm going to go look at the classical music." I point to the section I'll be at and he gives a nod of confirmation. We both split up and I skim through the music when someone bumps into me. I drop my phone into the case of records and CD's. "No. This is not happening." I mumble to myself as I try to find my phone among the mess.
"Let me help." A boy's voice says. He reaches in and starts looking around. He fishes out my phone. I reach for it and he pulls it back to him I turn to face him and see his bright soft green eyes watching me, his dark hair a stark contrast against the eyes. But by his clothes already I know I'll never get to know him outside bumping into each other. His leather biker jacket, dark-washed denim jeans and helmet. On top of his black combat boots, his whole outfit screams bad-news. I do like his choice in sunglasses though. Classy.
