Chapter 2 : The Principal's Office

LEXI P.O.V.
Well, I'm screwed. I have a track meet next week Friday at the stadium and I just broke my leg. I was walking down the stairs at school and someone pushed me by accident and I broke my leg. I think her name was Maddie? But it was an accident and she apologized and everything so it's ok. But now, I could have to miss my track meet! I hobbled down the stairs. My parents weren't home because they were working again. They are never home except for on Christmas and my birthday. Otherwise I spend holidays with Cameron and his parents, which are like a second family to me.
When I got out the front door, I didn't see Cameron, so I started walking to school by myself.

CAMERON P.O.V.
When I walked out the front door, I saw Lexi hopping along......on crutches?! I ran to her as fast as I could. "What happened?!" I exclaimed.
"I broke my leg?" she smiled at me. "A girl was being pushed by "stair traffic" and bumped into me and I fell down the stairs. But I'm fine!" I said.
"Ok, good...... I don't know what I would do if something happened to you," I said.
She blushed and looked away. "Thanks Cam."

~at school~

I was standing in line next to Lexi waiting for a Starbucks. Her hands were dangling from her crutches. This was my chance! I slowly reached for her hand. She then moved her hand abruptly out of its position to check her phone. I was literally this close!

LEXI P.O.V.
I was in French class with Cam when I heard an announcement from the loudspeaker. *DING* *DING* *LEXI LEBLANC OF FORM 1 BETA, PLEASE REPORT TO THE PRINCIPALS OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.*

I looked at Cameron and he was looking at me. In fact, the whole class was looking at me going OOOOOOOOOO! And everyone knew that when the principal said immediately it was rarely anything good. I walked down to the principal's office and when I got there he said, "Good, you're here. I have something very important to discuss with you." Oh no.
