As I gasped, my mother came in suspiciously, asking what I was doing. She noticed the note in my hand and came and sat on my bed. 'So...' she said, 'you've read your father's note. I knew he wrote one, but I never read it... Don't worry, I'm not mad. Soooo... Did it mention the royalty thing?' ... 'Ahh yeah it did!' I said. She went on to explain some details to me and then proceeded to tell me that at the library today, she read a book that talked about Germany and it said that the queen who was before me and that is ruling now, recently developed cancer and would have about three to four months before she would die. My mother commended me on having the courage to read this and said that I read it at a good time because in a few months, I'll be in a German castle!!
I freaked and tried to gain my thoughts. I was questioning myself about how much my life would change and what if I am not good enough and what if the country hates me? After we shed tears and calmed down, my mum reassured me that I am perfect for that great responsibility. She told me that my whole life, she has seen developments that make me the greatest choice. She also said that I have grown a little spark within me and it is quite noticeable in my manners, attitude and choices. That is one of the many reasons why I adore my mother, because she comforts me, encourages me and lifts my spirits!
I then asked her some questions like, 'When do we pack? When do we leave? Who will join us? And, what do we do? My mother, as all mothers do, sarcastically said 'I don't know!' She said that she would write a letter regarding my circumstances to my great granny and wait patiently for her reply. She said that she would start right away and proceeded to turn and walk urgently out of my room.
Hours past and I just sat and contemplated my new life as a princess. I thought about how many girls dream of being a princess and I got that chance! 'PRINCESS NEVAEH', I don't think that I could get used to hearing that everyday. I decided to check on my mother, so I went to her room and there she was sitting on her desk chair, pondering over the words in which she would soon ink.
I hovered over her shoulder to read what she wrote. It was pretty much everything that I asked my mum. She signed her name and sealed it with a ribbon. We posted it and we hoped for the best.
