Cameron pov-

I knew I was a fuck up. Ive always known that. But hearing Bree say she likes someone else kills me even more inside. It breaks the little bit of heart that I have left. Ive lost everything. My parents, my kid, my love, and myself.

I dont think there is ever going to be a time were im gonna be myself again.

"What do you mean they wont buy from us anymore?!" I slammed my hand against the conference rooms table rather harshly. It caused an echo to bounch through the room as everyone went into hush mode. I looked directly at Emily as she stood at the other end of the table with a file in her hand.

"Mr.Stevens said he thinks your prices are too high to make a deal with. He thinks you should lower the price of the hotel or sell more." She explained as she passed the basic color folder to my colleague Mike. He didnt dare look inside instead he passed it down until it reached me. I took it and opened it.

Dear Mr.Wood,

Im sorry to inform you that I'm going to reject your offerme and my clients all think that your prices are way too high for something so little. if you come to a solution that will make me happy and you happy please dont hesitate to give me a call.

I closed the file and threw it across the table. This was a bunch of bullshit. Ive never had a problem with selling old real estate to this man before, so what made him change his mind. Did he find someone with better offeres? Someone with a bigger company then mine?

"Emily, tell Bree to look up any companies that Mr.Stevens has previously bought from and make a chart of the expenses and offers this other company has to offer. Tell her to get it into me by this afternoon before she leaves." I sat down in my chair and ran my hand through my hair and sighed. This seriously cannot be happening right now.

" no one told you?"

" told me what?" i snapped.

"She called in sick today." she mentioned standing there awkwardly.

" I stood up out of my seat and made my way over to the door in an orderly fashion. as I was about to walk out the door one of the members stop me.

" but sir what about the expansion?"

" we can't make the expansion when we can't even get someone to buy the old company so we can tear it down and build there."

I quickly walked out of the office and made my way down to my car. once I made it I quickly started the car and drove towards Brees house. I know she isn't sick because I had just saw her yesterday and she looked perfectly fine, beautiful even.

Colin stop she's going to be working for you, you can't be thinking like this. No matter how impressed you are by her or how attractive you think she is.

"Are you sure you're okay?" I looked over at her as she sat on the other side of the couch. she looked tired and mentally drained. I wonder what is bothering her.

"No. Im not."

" care to explain?" i asked quietly, not wanting to sound demanding. This is her choice to tell me. I understand if she doesn't want to since we haven't known each other that long, but I would love for her to know that I'm always going to be there for her.

"Chris said he hates me." she whispered.

"Is Chris your ex?" i asked.

" no but he is my son." I decided not to question her anymore about it, because I could tell that she was hurting just thinking about it.

So I simply pulled her over to me and let her lay her head down on my lap and stretch out across the couch. I played with her hair and told her wild stories about my childhood and even some funny things that has happened at the office. that seemed to cheer her up a little bit but I just wish I could do more.
