Bree's pov -

As soon as I walked out of the building, I let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding. Honestly, that interview was the most nerve racking thing I've ever been through, but at least I was hopefully going to get the job. I walked to the bus stop, since I didn't drive myself here and waited for the bus to take me home. While waiting, I called my mom.
"Hey sweetie. How'd the interview go?"
"Good I think? He wants me to come in and get the feel of things before he thinks of hiring me"
"Well that's promising, was he nice?"
"Yeah and really attractive. I held my breath it seems like the whole time I was in front of him" I said as my mom chuckled. We continued talking about random things for the next 15 minutes until the bus pulled up.
"I got to go mom, I'll talk to you later love you"
"Love you too Hun bye" she said and hung up.
****
Later that evening, Chelsea came over for dinner, I made her and Christopher's favorite, chicken Alfredo.
"This gets better and better everytime you make it Bree" Chelsea moaned as she practically inhaled her food.
"Thanks" I smiled
"How'd the interview go? I forgot to ask" she said and set down her fork to take a sip of wine.
"Good. He wants me to come In and see how things work first"
"Cool, I hope you get it. Working with my best friend would be rad" she smiled as I nodded
"I'm full" Christopher groaned and pushed his plate away, half of his food was gone so I decided to let him get up from the table"
"Okay, just throw the rest away and set your plate and fork beside the sink." I said as he nodded. Once he was out of the kitchen and in the living room Chelsea began to talk.
"Do you want me to come around more? I'm sure raising Chris all by yourself is gonna get stressful." She said looking at me. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair.
"It's fine, it'll be hard. But I'm not just gonna give up on him. That little boy is the only thing that is keeping me going, I made him. I'll never let him down"
"You're a great mother, Bree"
"Thanks" I smiled and started tearing up. How could Cameron just walk out on his son? I could care less about me.. I'm done with him. But giving up on his son who is innocent to all of this just seems extremely unfair.
"Okay it's almost 8 I gotta go, got work tomorrow" Chelsea said gathering her things.
"I'll see you tomorrow" I smirked
"shit! I forgot you're coming to start 'getting a feel of things' " she giggled
"Yupp"
"What are you gonna wear?" She asked and grabbed her purse
"You'll see" I winked as she laughed and went into the living room.
"Bye Chris I'll see you tomorrow" she smiled and bent down to hug him.
"Bye girlie" she said and hugged me
"Love y'all"
"Love you too" I replied and she walked out.
"Ready for a bed? I asked Christopher, of course he shook his head no.
"I wanna watch a movie"
"Fine one movie, then bed."
"Okay" he smiled and picked out a movie.
Halfway through Edward Scissorhands, Christopher fell asleep. I turned off the tv and all the downstair lights and picked him up, carrying him to his room. It was around 12:30 when I finally drifted off to sleep.
****
My alarm blared at 7:30. I groaned and shut it off and headed to Christopher's room to wake him up, thankfully when I got to his room, he was already up and dressed and sitting on his bed watching spongebob.
"I'm surprised you're up and ready" I laughed
"I woke up early" he replied never taking his eyes off the screen.
"Oh okay. Well mommys gonna go get ready. I'll Come get you when the bus is on the way." I said as he nodded.
I went into my room and went to my closet, in search for something more grown up looking. I pushed Cameron's shirts aside and looked at mine. I picked out my lace and floral print crop top and pulled out a black pencil skirt. When I put it on, I pulled the skirt up high enough so you could barely see my stomach, I still had to look professional. I slipped on my high heel boots and just brushed my hair out, it was slightly wavy but I didn't feel like straightening it. I did my normal eye makeup and decided that I looked good enough. When I checked the clock it was 8:25 the bus was coming in 5 minutes.
"Christopher!" I yelled as he walked into my room, bookbag in hand
"Ready?"
"Yeah mama" he smiled
"Okay come on" I said as we walked to the car so I could drive him to the bus stop. Like always, the bus came at its normal time, 8:30. When I got back to the house, I grabbed my things and headed to Woods corporations.
****
3:30 rolled around and I was finally able to leave. My first day there honestly wasn't that bad. I was told to just stick by a woman named Amber, she was a nice lady. She bossed me around a bit but it was okay. By the time I got home, it was 10 minutes till Christopher got out of school. But when I pulled into the driveway I spotted his car. Why the hell around 3 weeks was he here. I slowly got out the car and entered the house. I checked the downstairs and he was no where to be found. I slipped off my boots and headed up stairs to find him in the bedroom.
"Cameron" I said as he turned around
"Fuck you scared me" he said
"Why are you here?"
"I need more clothes" he snapped
"Oh okay. Well get what you need and leave" I said and started out the door before I could cross the threshold, Cameron gripped my wrist tightly causing me to wince.
"Let go you're hurting me" I said looking into to his eyes. He looked mad, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared
"You don't tell me to leave, my name is on this fücking house too" he yelled in my face. Squeezing my wrist tighter. Tears began to leave my eyes. He brought his hand up and I flinched back.
" I wasn't gonna hit you" he said and stepped back.
"Get out" I growled, trying desperately to hide my pain.
"I'll leave when I fücking want to!" He yelled, becoming angry again.
"No! You're gonna leave or in calling the police you're not welcomed here unless you're getting shit and leaving!" I yelled and before I knew it, his hand slapped across my cheek, causing pain to rush through my jaw. I looked at him stunned.
"Mommy??" I heard Christopher's sweet voice call from downstairs.
"I can't believe you did that! You said you'd never hit me!! God, you're a fücking monster. Get out!" I screamed and walked out the room with tears streaming down my face to go greet MY son.
