Stella
Finally my favorite class. Vocal. Yes it's a class. I walk in seeing Doc. I threw up a peace sign a gave him a big smile.
"Hey Doc."
"Hello sweetie."
"What are we doing today?" I go over and hug him. He returns the hug.
"Something really different. I hope you join."
"Is it fun?"
"Very."
"I'm in."
He laughs as the others come in. The first 40 minutes of class we vocalize and talk about the songs for the upcoming concert.
All of the sudden the fire alarm goes off.
We all head out quickly. It's so nice out. I look up at the sky and took a deep breath in. Amazing.
I look for Doc to see if he's out here. And apparently he is. With some guy who looks around my age. He looks good.
"Stella!" I hear Cat.
"Hey. What's up?"
"It's so nice out! I can't wait for our date later."
"Same here my child." I look over to Doc and the guy.
"Who is that?"
"I don't know."
"Well. He is beautiful."
"I know."
Some time passed and we were outside. Daniel and Cat were hanging out with me. I was third wheeling basically. They're so cute. They flirt with each other and don't even notice.
We finally went inside, there was 15 minutes of class left.
"Well since that took most of our time. How about I explain about what's going to happen tomorrow." Doc states. The guy who was outside with him steps in.
"This is Tyler. My nephew. He graduated here three years ago. He's here to help around. He was a vocal major as well. Tomorrow we are going to start an acappella group. Auditions start at 3:00 end at 10:00. Would you like to explain the rules?"
"Sure. There are three rounds. You need to pass each level to move on. On level three Uncle Jerry and I will pick the president aka leader and music director. Those two will listen to the last 20 standing and help pick the new 10 members of the club. We will talk about the name of the group."
"The rounds consist of voice, dance moves, grades, look and of course presentation. During class you'll have time to practice and I will sign off a free period to each of you participating. Who's is gonna join?"
Everyone raises their hand. This is gonna be hard. Everyone in here is so talented.
"Sign in sheet in the front" Doc says just when the bell rings. "Class dismissed."
"Stella sweetie?" He calls me.
"Yes Doc."
"I didn't see your hand up. I hope to see you there."
"I told you I was in Doc." I smile and pick up the pen. I write my name. "See you tomorrow." I wave.
