Measle And The Wrathmonk or The Train Set Of Terror
Meet Measle Stubbs.
Measle is an orphan with hygiene issues. He cuts his hair with kitchen knives, his clothes challenge the trade descriptions act and he doesn't even know where the bathroom is! If it weren't for the fact that his guardian, Basil Tramplebone, is a greedy, malevolent, wizard-gone-bad Wrathmonk who won't let him play with his fantastic toy train set, it might get him down.
When Basil catches Measle flagrante dilikto with his precious engines he shrinks him with an evil spell until he is only a few centimetres tall. Trapped in the world of the train set Measle finds some unexpected friends and some extremely unwelcome enemies. Can he lead his new-found companions to safety before Basil has a chance to finish what he started? Or will something else swoop down and dispose of them first?
---------------
Meale Stubbs is not a boy known for his good luck. He's thin and weedy and hasn't had a bath for years-and he has to live with his horrible old guardian, Basil Tramplebone.
Just when Measle thinks things can't get any worse, he's zapped into the world of Basil's toy train set. There's something lurking in the rafters and a giant cockroach is on his trail-it's times like these you need a few friends . . . and a plan!
'Stink is what Ogilvy does best. This is a book that smells superbly foul.'
Michael Rosen, Guardian
'A terrific tale in every sense.'
Amanda Craig, The Times
Measle And The Drogodon or The Funfair Of Fear
'badder baddies, more dastardly plots, wicked spells-and our hero has his first bath in years!'
Sunday Express
Things are looking up for Measle.
He's been reunited with his parents and they're making up for lost time and having lots of fun. It seems too good to last.
And it is.
The mysterious Dragodon and his gang of wicked Wrathmonks have cast a spell on Measle's dad and snatched his mum. Measle and his dog, Tinker, have only one clue, and it leads them to the deserted theme park--The Isle of Smiles.
Being hunted down by horrors in a dark, wet funfair is anything but fun! Measle is on a mission with more ups and downs than any rollercoaster--can he save the day once again?
--------------
Measle's back...
Just when Measle thinks his life is getting back to normal, he, his baby sister, and Tinker the dog are whisked off to a creepy castle.
The castle is supposed to keep them safe from the horrors outside, but what about all the horrors that are waiting for them inside? Just what is that group of whispering warlocks really up to? And what do they want with Measle and his family?
Once again, Measle finds himself battling against terrible forces of evil magic in order to save his family - and this time he's got to take care of his baby sister too (or is she really taking care of him? ...
--------------
Some double-crossing wizards have locked up Measle's mum and dad. So now it's just Measle, his baby sister and his little dog Tinker- and they're up against . . . well, just about everybody. And when everybody's after you, you need somewhere to hide.
Caltrop Castle may look safe enough with its huge bolted doors to keep the lurking horrors out. But what if the lurking horrors are already inside? Poor Measle, even the castle is out to get him. . .
'The writing is perfectly pitched.'
Daily Express
A blob of stinky slime is on the loose, slurping up everything in its path. Nothing is safe. Especially not Measle Stubbs.
For the slippery, slobbery Slitherghoul has gobbled a gaggle of wrathmonks - and, in doing so, swallowed their hatred of Measle. Now the blubbery blob is after him, and nothing can stop it!
Can Measle gulp down his fear and beat the Slitherghoul...before the Slitherghoul gulps him down?
What starts out as an exciting school trip for Measle and his classmates quickly becomes a nightmare of the worst possible kind. Measle is dropped into a Doompit by his old arch enemy, onr of the wrathmonks/warlocks he has faced in his past. The Doompit leads to the world of Dystopia, where all the monsters you've ever heard of live - and it's up to Measle to get himself, his dog Tinker and his poor, silly little Wrathmonk friend, Iggy Niggle, out of the clutches of a number of horrors, including werewolves, giant spiders, an abominable snowman and, most terrifying of all, Medusa the Gorgon. The trouble is, there's no way out of Dystopia - and, to make matters worse, one of his warlock/wrathmonk enemies is still after his blood ...
