A/N: Bit boring, no Draco/Dramione in this chapter, but it was needed.

Hermione shook her hair nervously, attempting to banish the thoughts in her head once more but again, failing. She scolded herself, they're your best friends, what's to worry about? Yes, but they won't want to be your friends when they find out who you really are. Thoughts racked her brain, tiny little voices all wanting their say in this inner battle.

She reached the front door of the Weasley's house.

Before she could knock, the door opened and two men walked out.

"Yeah sure, but you know I haven't flown in a while-"

"'Mione!"

She hugged him back and threw Harry a sweet smile.

"Ron, enough."

"Okay, it's just I've missed you so much!"

"Me too Ron, both you and Harry." She smiled at them both.

"Hey, do you want to come out for a quick fly for tea? Mrs Weasley's making roast tonight by the way, feel free to come...by the way, what are you looking for, why are you here? I mean it's not that I don't want you here- I do-"

She interrupted him, nervously twirling her hair around her finger, something she always did when she was nervous.

"No way, you know I hate flying. And actually, I'm here to tell you something." She swallowed, another habit, "It's about me."

Harry shot Ron a glance.

"Sure, Hermione, come on in."

----------

She had just told them the news.

"You what?" Ron yelled, standing up.

"Ron, calm down!"

"I am calm!"

"No you're not! Harry... what do you say?"

"Well, there's not much you can do about it, is there?"

"Well no, but-"

"And now that you're in Slytherin, I guess you won't see us much, will you?"

"Well no, but-"

"And you'll probably hang out with Draco Malfoy, of all people."

"Harry! I can't help it, okay-"

"I'm sorry Hermione."

"What!?"

She stood up, but the two were already leaving the room.

She sunk back down on the sofa, not sure what to do. This wasn't what she had asked for, was it? It wasn't her fault. She never wanted this. She had been lied to all her life.

She was lost, she didn't know what to do.

But you never know, sometimes all it takes is one special person to change that.
