A doctor held in his hands a newborn boy who was squirming and slightly crying. The doctor, Mr. Damond, was worried that something may be wrong so he walked over to the mother and let her see her new baby boy before he took him to the infant ward to be checked over. Upon seeing her child's face, the mother smiled a smile as bright as the stars and let out a shaky whisper of a name, "T-Toby, he looks just like his father." Dr. Damond nodded and then walked away, taking the possibly sick infant to be given a thorough check up.

As he walked out of the room he looked down at the baby and saw his hands waving about wildly. "Quite the rambunctious fellow, eh?" He laughed at his little joke but when he looked more closely at the hand waving about he saw that the little watch implanted in the inside of the wrist had only a minute left before it clocked out.

Dr. Damond was baffled that a baby would meet their soulmate at such an age and place. He sped up his walk to the head nurse to tell her about the baffling watch but had to pause for a moment when a woman who wasn't looking nearly crashed into him while he was walking through the door.

"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to," She apologized profusely but Dr. Damond didn't notice as he was already up and walking to the nurse.

He called out to her from across the room full of sick and premature babies. Looking back down at the watch he lightly cursed, "Only half a minute left?! How the hell does someone meet a soulmate in here?" When the nurse finally got over to him and he had explained the situation, she took baby Toby and walked him over to one of the open cradles to lay him down and give him the standard tests.

While she gave him the heel-prick she looked at his watch and noticed it had 15 seconds left. The nurse looked around the room but didn't see anybody around other than herself and Toby was staring right at her so it couldn't be her. "You may be the first to never have a soulmate, little buddy," She mummered to him before she walked to the room on the other side to run the tests.

While the test was running she walked back over to baby Toby to watch his watch clock down to 0. When she was 10 feet away she heard something walking over to where Toby was. Being cautious, the nurse slowed down and tip-toed around to where the noise was. When she heard the shuffling stop in front of Toby. Silently, she watched as as small fingers wrapped over the edge of the cradle he was in. Then, slowly, a chocolate colored face with thick black hair peaked over the edge and as the little girl's eyes saw Toby for the first time a small beep sounded from her watch. The girl looked slightly startled by the noise but when Toby moved his eyes down to his feet and saw the floof of hair there, another beep resounded through the room.
