Interrogator - Int.
Alison - Ali.
Int: Tell me, when was the last time you saw Ashlynn?
Ali: She was over at my house, hanging out with me and getting help from me on her homework that she had been falling behind in.
Int: Do you know what time did she left your house?
Ali: Around 9ish at night.
Int: Did she say where she was going?
Ali: Yeah, she said she was going to head home. She said her parents would probably be mad at her for staying out so late.
Int: And did she have a ride home?
Ali: She said she would be taking the bus. But other than that no, she didn't have any rides home. She could have walked though. Our houses are a good 4 or 5 miles apart.
Int: Did you see her getting on the bus or anything? Is the bus anywhere near your house?
Ali: No, I didn't see her get on the bus. It's a little ways down my road. But I did see her go in that direction as soon as she left.
Int: Did you notice anything unusual or out of place about her that night or at all before she disappeared?
Ali: No, I didn't. Nobody did. She was the same as always. Nothing seemed to be different about her and nothing seemed to be wrong with her.
Int: And you're sure she headed for the bus stop when you saw her leaving?
Ali: Yes, I'm positive.
Int: Has she ever just up and left for a few days or so and then came back before?
Ali: Actually... Yes. Once before. She had come over to visit and when she did she had a backpack full of food, water bottles, and other things to survive out in the woods basically. And she told me that she'd be gone for a while so I said okay.
Int: And you didn't stop her?
Ali: If you think you can stop her, then you're dead wrong. Nobody can stop her once she's set her mind on doing something. So I just said okay instead of fighting a battle that's impossible to win.
Int: I see... And how long had she left for?
Ali: A month and a half.
Int: And nobody notified the police for it?
Ali: No, because I had told everyone what she had told me. So they didn't worry. Ashlynn's not helpless. She can survive years and years on her own in the forest or woods, which ever you want to call it. She has a weird but strong connection with the wilderness.
Int: So you notified the police this time because she didn't say a word about leaving?
Ali: Yes. She would have said something to at least me if she was going to do that again. I know her.
Int: Do you have any ideas of where she might have gone?
Ali: Yes, I do, and I'm pretty sure I'm right, but I can see that she doesn't want anyone knowing where she's at if she didn't even bother to tell me she was leaving.
Int: Well if you all want her to be found and brought back then I need to know where this place is. So could you tell me so that I can get your friend back?
Ali: No.
Int: Why not?
Ali: Like I said, she doesn't want to be found, or she would have said something about leaving.
Int: But she could he in danger and nobody would ever know and be able to help her.
Ali: She's not in danger.
Int: And how do you know that?
Ali: Because, she knows how to fight, she's a fast runner, a fast swimmer, an amazing climber, great at talking her way out of things and getting things she needs without having to give up anything herself, her senses are sharper than a cats, she's a light sleeper, only needs 3-4 hours of sleep to be ready to go for a full three days, a very quick thinker, only needs at least a meal and a half a day, and knows how to get around without asking for directions. Plus she loves being alone anyways. So why do I need to worry about her when there's nothing to worry about?
Int: Well... There's always someone better at all those things than she is, and they could have her. Only God knows wha-
Ali: Don't you dare bring up God during this. There is no God. Did a God save Ashlynn from an abusive family? Did a God try and save her when she tried to end her life? Did a God save me? Our friends? Anyone? Did a God keep Ashlynn here? Did a God look out for her? No. A God didn't do any of that. There is no God. And if there is, then why hasn't he helped anyone at all like everyone says he does or will do? Huh? Can you answer me that?
Int: .......
Ali: Yeah, that's what I thought.
Int: I've gathered enough information from you. Thank you for taking the time to talk with me about Ashlynn's disappearance.
Ali: You don't have to be so polite. I know you didn't like talking to me. You can show it, don't try to hide it. I can sense hate from you.
Int: Alright. Then I'll say this. I'd rather not ever have to talk with you again.
Ali: Yeah, same for me.
