I continued to walk towards my car, listening to Rydia’s sobs and Sam using compulsion her.  I stopped and wiped my face off, turning to see Sam holding Rydia in his arms.

I had no idea what to do.  It was either to get her to forget everything that just happened, or leave.  And unfortunately I am selfish and couldn’t bare to leave her, especially when Stefanheim was at his largest.

I turned back towards my car, slamming my fists into the hood, creating a large dent in it.  Suddenly Sam came up next to me, laying his hand on my shoulder, telling me that it had to be done.

I looked at him in horror, “No, it wasn’t necessary, she had a choice to remember that or not, and we took that freedom away from her!” I yelled, getting closer and closer to his face.

But he just shrugged me away, resuming his usual nervous demeanor and walked back to his Mazda, yelling at me, “I came here to help you and I did.  See yah later.”  With that he got in his car and speed away.  I stared after his car, disgusted with him, and myself.

I heard Rydia begin to wake up and walked over to her, sitting down and resting her head on my lap.

When she woke up, she lifted up her head and whispered, “What happened?  And how long have I been out?”

I smiled down at her and responded softly, “We were watching the sky; you said you like to do this, and you fell asleep.  You’ve been out for a couple hours.”

“Sin, you didn’t have to stay here with me, especially asleep,” she grumbled and rested her head back on my lap.  I chuckled at her and ran my hand through her hair.

“Now why would I ever leave you alone at night?  In this abandoned parking lot?” I teased, getting the response of her just shrugging her shoulders at me.

I laughed at her again and continued to run my hand through her hair, rubbing her back through her sweat shirt. We watched the sun rise the rest of the way; when it reached its peak of beauty, Rydia gasped and expressed her love of it.

“It’s as beautiful as you, actually in a competition with you to win my adoration,” I said, gazing at her bright eyes.  She smiled and reached her hand up, softly stroking my face with her slim, long fingers.

“Sin, you are too good to me.”

“No such thing,” I responded, taking her hand in mine and bending my head down, gently meeting my lips with hers, lingering for a moment before pulling back.

She smiled up at me and then yawned.

I laughed and then lifted her into my arms, with her head in one crook and her legs in the other.  I walked over to the car, resting her in the passenger seat.

She fell asleep before I even got the car started.
