Patrick's POV
After my episode, I didn't go back to sleep. I had just waited until Declan would wake up so I could spend some time with him until Pete woke up. Soon enough, I heard some whimpering coming from the baby monitor beside my bed. I sat up and walked into the brightly colored room. Picking up Declan and sitting into the rocking chair. Declan had brought his blanket and his stuffed lion that he could not live without. I slowly rocked us as I hummed a lullaby.. Declan had fallen back to sleep in a few minutes, and so had I.
Petes POV
When I woke up it was way too cold for comfort. I inched over to find Patrick and reached my arm out, he wasn't there. I shot up in panic and tried to look for signs of where he may be. I carefully walked out of our room and then walked quicker into Declan's. Making sure he was okay, I opened the door to the most sweetest thing. There was my entire world, sleeping peacefully. I smiled as I quickly took a picture and slipped out of the room. I went downstairs and began to play Nightmare Before Christmas, hoping by the end that Patrick and Declan will be awake.
A few minutes into "this is Halloween" I hear squeals and laughing. Then Patrick came down with little Declan in his arms. Declan may be 1 1/2 but he knows his favorite movie by heart. He was blabbing to the song as Patrick sat next to me and sat the little one in between us. I ruffled Declan's short blond hair and kissed Patrick on the cheek.
Shortly after the movie ended we had just been sitting there in silence. It was a comfortable silence.
"I wouldn't mind another one." Patrick said with a smirk
I hummed in response. Maybe Declan would like a brother or sister. We ended up getting on the topic of names and the gender or the age. Because unfortunately, neither of us can hold a baby. We decided on another boy, possibly older then Declan. We had an extra room. We already had papers confirming that we can adopt, we would just need to find the perfect one for us and Declan. Patrick was scrolling through an adoption website and every few minutes I would hear an "aww" or he would just smile.
"Look Pete!" Patrick squealed as he showed me the screen
It revealed a young boy with red hair like Patrick's, bright blue eyes, and he looked around 4 years old. He was perfect.
A few days later we went to the center and met the small boy. He was cheery and wanted cuddles almost every second we were there. He was also very fascinated with Declan and loved playing with him. We immediately knew he was ours.
We had already set up his room, a nice light blue and stickers of cars were everywhere. His eyes lit up when he saw his room. He jumped around and thanked us multiple times.
We hadn't really decided a name for him because he didn't fit the ones we picked out. So he was just "little guy" for now. And he didn't mind it at all.
That night was the hardest. We had put Declan down for bed and we're trying to put him down as well. Every time he would scream and run into our room. Eventually we gave up and allowed him into our bed. One night wouldn't hurt?

FanfictionGoing to sleep isn't my favorite thing in the world. Not when every morning. Around 4:00, or 4:03 to be exact... I wake up from another nightmare. Luckily. I have Pete. (Slow-ish updates!) Enjoy the heartbreak! ❤️
