Chapter 4

The car ride home was very quiet
It kinda scared me how quiet it was
I think the driver too...
Because my family was usually a loud and lovely family
I guess things has changed...
After a good 45 minutes of awkward silence
My dad decides to put music
The first song to come on was
Udungada sangu
One of my personally favorites
I'm a huge fan of Sad(Siva dhanush and Ani)
I think the driver was too cuz he was humming to the song as well.
"So Sneha you seem to really like Tamil songs?"
Says my cousin
"Yah, I mostly listen to anirudh songs they really connect to me."
I say somewhat proudly.
"Well, if you are going to live in our family it's only Telugu songs."
That's going to be hard
Yes, my mother tongue is Telugu
But I am Tamil influenced too.
I have nothing wrong with Telugu songs they are good too
But I just listen to Tamil more often.
"At least if u want to listen to it, use headphones."
I have nothing to say except "ok"
I can see my dad giving and apologetic look towards me as he changes the song.
I am already on the bad side of some of my relatives for reasons I still don't know of, so it's best I agree to my cousins so I'm at least on their good side.
We finally reach our house after a long drive from the airport.
We had 2 neighbors one of them are an old, very sweet couple of live with there daughter.
And the other WAS supposed to be one of my childhood friends but apparently she had moved out 2 years ago and another family has moved in.
From what I have heard from my cousins, they are a family of 4,
A mother
A father
Their daughter who is 14
And their son who is my age
As I was getting my luggage into the house
I saw a guy coming out of my neighbors house
He was a bit thin and tall
With the typical  guy hair style with their hair gelled up.
Chocolate brown eyes
Staring at me
With a smirk on his face
