I woke with a start, sitting up in my bed way too quickly. My head began to throb slightly as I tried to recall all that had happened last night. The morning light was burning into my eyes and I couldn't see anything for a good three minutes. Finally, things began coming into focus. The sunrise- a watercolor painting of light just as it had been the morning before, all splattered across the horizon. My bright room, filling with the shadows the day would bring. My bed, fluffy and cool, reflecting the sun's light off its white surface. And then suddenly I remembered.

Red and blue lights, a rainy haze, a broken girl...

I turned on my side and closed my eyes, ready to cry, when I felt what had to be someone's warm breath on my face. That's weird... I opened my eyes slowly, afraid of what I might find next to me.

I screamed, pushing myself up and off the bed onto my hard wood floors. I could already feel the bruise on my back but I didn't care.

"Holy SHIT Nick, what are you doing?!"

I could only stare in awe. What the hell...?

"Nick would you stop looking at me like I'm some monster, Jesus Christ, you scared the shit out of me. Why are you screaming?"

It was impossible, but there she was, yelling at me as though nothing had changed. Her soft features still slightly puffy, her eyes full and brown and dusty with sleep. Her dark hair fell down in large ringlets and caressed her the white skin of her face. I couldn't believe this. I was in some sort of dream, I must be. Slowly, carefully, I reached out and touched her face with the tips of my fingers. The softness of her cheek sent shivers up my arm and throughout my body, electricty, almost. She was alive. I sat back and focused on her face, it was full of confusion and discomfort, bringing me out of my hypnotic state.

"Sorry, I just, I had a dream you died, I guess it was just super real," I laughed it off. Yeah, that must be it. Just a dream.

Lucky for me, she believed it. She smiled and giggled along with me, grabbing my face in her hands.

"How rude of you, to just kill me off like that," she let go of my face and stood up, her long shirt covering up just enough, as always, friendly, "and here I was thinking we were best friends!" She smiled and walked off, probably to the kitchen where she would wait for me to make breakfast. I could still feel the warmth from her face in my fingertips, and my face was clammy where she had held it in her hands.

Just a dream, I guess.

*Sorry this chapter is so short! It's kind of a filler... More later!
