The Beginning

Okay so before I begin, this is my first fan fic I have ever put up publicly. Or ever written about Patrick Stump. So if anyone does ever read it, thanks.

I let myself fall onto my bed in a heap.

Well, not before putting "From Under the Cork Tree" into my old CD player and turning it up really loud. So I could block out everything around me.

It had been such a terrible week. My stupid boss was just such a dick. Even more than usual. He kept calling me names and slapping my ass. And he brought his new girlfriend (some bleach blonde, high healed girl that couldn't have been more than 20) to show off to everyone, but mostly me.

We used to date. Before I realised he was a jerk. I shouldn't even be working for him, but I have no other choice. I live with my dad (I'm 26) and I need to save up. He keeps offering me money and telling me to quit and to follow my dreams. But I hate oweing money to people, even my own father.

So I'm stuck in this constant loop of work, sleep and hating my life choices. The only times I'm properly happy these days is when I'm listening to Fall Out Boy or helping my dad with the club he owns down town (It's actually called Down Town. So original.).

He usually has someone new performing every weekend. Sometimes I sing or play guitar and it's really fun. But it's only a hobby (sometimes I wish it was something more, an actual career maybe.).

I'm jerked from my thoughts as I hear my dad bang on my door.

"Sorry!" I shout and turn down the music, "come in!"

"Paige! Seriously, you're going to burst your ear drums," he sighs, but he isn't angry.

"Sorry dad," I apologised.

"It's fine. Bad day at work?"

I looked down at the floor.

"It's okay Sweet Pea, I know what will cheer you up," my dad smiled at me, "do you want to help out tomorrow at the club."

"Sure!" I perk up immediately, it not like I have any plans or anything. My only two friends, Dee and Mels are away, "who's playing?"

"I'm not sure, some soul punk singer or something, I can't remember his name for the life of me."

"Soul punk? Cool." I smile brighter.

"Do you want to come down for something to eat? I have pizza."

"Seriously Dad! I really didn't think it could get any better. I'll be down in a second."

He left, and I went over to turn off the CD player. Looking at all my Fall Out Boy albums made me sad again. I missed them.

Patrick's "Soul Punk" album was on top. "Wouldn't it be funny if you were playing tomorrow night," I wishfully thought. But that was never going to happen...right?

So if anyone is reading this, I hope you like it. I hope to have the second chapter up soon. Also sorry if you think it's short, but hopefully it's only just beginning...
