Soushi's POV
-Flashback

''Nii-chan!~"

"Yes....what is it Saku?"

"Can you teach me how to read music?! I can only ask your for your help...after...." her smile stopped reaching her eyes "...never mind. I want you to teach me everything you know about reading music!!" she grinned reluctantly.

I knew what she was thinking about.

Our parents died in a yokai incident when a very powerful yokai was killing innocent people and others of his kind.

That's when our parents got into the fight.

Killed in cold blood.

I cringe in anger at the thought of losing our parents, but Sakura had suffered the most. We witnessed the whole thing happen together.

Fear.

The fear in her eyes when the katana stabbed through the hearts of the family she so loved.

I can't help but feel responsible for not protecting her from the thing she feared most.

And yet, this little girl still has the most beautiful smile even with all the pain she has to bear.

"Hello?! Are you alright Sou?"

I blinked realizing I was staring blankly at her.
"Oh. S-sorry. I'm fine" I smiled at her.

"Really? Are you sure? You've been staring at me for five minutes already. Are you sick?"
She reached for my forehead and checked if I had a fever.

"No.. It's fine..really...I just spaced out a little..now, you wanted to learn how to read music right?"

"Yeah!!" she giggled at her own outburst of happiness.

"NO!! DON'T TAKE HER AWAY!!" I yelled at our caretaker as the guards pulled me away from Sakura.

"I'm sorry Soushi...but she cannot learn about what she is capable of. She will be a danger and we cannot have too many suspicions of harboring a high class powerful yokai or else she will be taken away to be killed or drained of her power."

Why.

Why do I have to leave the only family I had left?

Why does she have to suffer?

"I'm sorry Saku."

Present

"Oi. You alive?"

Twelve years.

I should've fought with my life but I still can't believe I just let her go.

"Miketsukami....are you ok?"

I snap out of my deep thoughts and find that Ririchyo-sama had been calling be for the past 10 minutes.

"Yes. I'm fine Ririchyo-sama. Just deep in thought." I answered back.

"Well. Just talk to me if something is bothering you. I mean not that I care. But I might as well help you out because you're my attendant and I have no choice in the matter."

"Of course, Ririchyo-sama"

'I miss her'
