Sakura's POV.

      "Oh! I should also get this too!! What do you think Sakura-Chan?"
      "Kaito....I don't give a damn...just choose one already"

Kaito has been trying to buy every single thing that catches his interests and insists on asking me if he should or shouldn't buy them. Frankly speaking...he's been an annoyance for the past hour.

      "Aw come on Saku-Chan~ don't be that way~I haven't seen you in a while and that attitude of yours just never goes away! Now let's see that smile of yours!!!" says Kaito in a determined tone. Not sure what he's so determined about the little- (Author-San: now now Saku-Chan~)

Woo~ I almost lost myself there.

      "Kaito can we just leave already? We've literally been out here for an hour and I'm tired of hearing you talk" I said in a calm matter considering we are in a public area.

"W-wait! Uh I still need uhm.....OH A KOTATSU!!! *ahem* Yes I need a kotatsu for my room ahahahaha..."

"Why the hell do you need a kotatsu when you have a heater in your room?"

"For....the Japanese effect?"

"......that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You're Japanese you moron. We're leaving right now."

"BUT HIME- BLEHRVJRBFHF"

"I SWEAR I WILL DECK YOU IF YOU DON'T STOP WITH THAT NICKNAME! And what are you FIVE?! We're leaving!" I was so fed up with this man already. *sigh* an annoyance in childhood and then he becomes the same child at the age of 23 I swear. But what do I do. I'm stuck with this man child. -.-

Kaito's POV.

'Crap! What do I do?! I was supposed to keep her out of Ayakashi Hall until 6:00 but it's only 5:30!! Think, think, think!!!'

"Ne Sakura. Are you sure you want to go back so early? I mean there are so many things I still need to get?" Crap that wasn't a great excuse was it.

"Kaito I've made up my mind. I'm not sure why you keep trying to get me to stay longer but it's annoying so stop it."

Sakura kept walking ahead of me and I needed to think fast! We're almost halfway towards the apartment near the park and it's only 5:45. I need to think. What would make Sakura stop and listen? Then Sakura suddenly stopped in her tracks.

"Saku-"
"Shh wait"
"But Sakura- mmft"

She covered my mouth and looked around. I didn't understand what was going on until I suddenly felt a dark presence near us. Sakura then looked at me in alarm.

"Kaito, run when I say so" she whispered to me.
"What? Why?"
"Just listen to me and run when I tell you to" Sakura said in a serious tone. I knew there was no way she would change her mind so I nod my head in agreement.
"Ok. But if something happens to you I WILL interfere."
"Run"
"Wait wha-"
"I SAID RUN KAITO"

She suddenly pushed me away from her and I ended up further away from her than I expected. I looked up and I realized there was a black barrier starting to separate her from me and before she was completely engulfed in the barrier she turned to my direction.

"I'll be fine!!" she yelled as she became completely engulfed in the darkness.
"NO SAKURA!!" I ran towards the black barrier and hit it with my fists. No use. The barrier would not break.

I quickly called Soushi and told him to get to us as fast as he could. When he got here he looked at the black barrier in shock.

"Kaito-San, this barrier cannot be broken without the use of a high ranked power. I'm afraid I cannot be of use to break the barrier down. When Ririchyo-sama had been stuck in a similar barrier, it was easier to break down but this one seems somewhat different than the others."
"What do you mean 'different than the others'?" I asked.
"It seems that someone else had implemented their powers into this yokai to trap Sakura on purpose"
"But who would try and trap her? She's just a yokai fox spirit."

Soushi looked down as I said that, like he was hiding something from me. What is he not telling me? You know what. SCREW IT. That's not important right now.

"You said it should break down if a member of a higher ranked power was to do it right?" I was starting to get worried about Sakura being in there by herself. She's strong but she's also afraid of the darkness. I can't let this happen.

"I mean yes I did but-"
"Good"

I started to change into my yokai form. My hair became longer and my horns and wings came into view. I could feel my eyes changing form and color as well. Power surged through me and my sword came at my side.

"Then I'll be able to break it down"

——————On Sakura's side———————-
Third person POV

No.
I can't do this.
Luck is not on my damn side today *sigh*.
It's so dark in here...It feels empty.
"What the hell do you think you're doing? What is the meaning of this?"

'Sakura'
What the hell-
'You've been gone for too long...soon. Soon you shall come back. Soon I will have you.'

"AH! Damn what the hell!"

My head feels like it's about to split open..Kami...I feel so..dizzy.

Before everything goes black all I see is a stream of white light and a figure I know too well calling my name.

"SAKURA!!"

I AM BACK.
...I know I know it's been WAYY TOO LONG AND I APOLOGIZE. I had this chapter in drafts and I completely forgot about this story.

I'm a senior in high school now which means...college apps...yay.

But regardless I'll try my hardest to update more especially because it seems a lot of people enjoy this story :3
