Sakura POV.

Great. Another run in from the past. Just my luck.

I took another closer look at the guy standing before me to make sure it's actually him.

If I'm being honest, I'm shocked. He seemed to have changed since the last I saw him.

The only friend that I had in that cold, dark place.

His parents would leave him in the care of the servants in the estate to attend to their business meetings with the other higher ranks. Kaito found me in the basement while he was hiding from the servants.

He was lonely.

A lonely kid with nothing but servants to take care him.

All he wanted was the love of his parents.

As opposed to me, without parents and hated by those who knew about me.

We were two peas in a pod.

Before, Kaito was a happy-go-lucky brat. Always creating trouble for the adults around him. Always with the pranks and the idiotic jokes. It was the only time in which I could laugh and smile.

Where I could actually be a child without being treated like a monster, before the torture began.

Now he held himself in a more sophisticated type of way. A powerful aura. Not to mention that he's become an adult.

I wouldn't have recognized him without his eyes, same unruly hair, and the dragon tattoo on his left arm.

Nonetheless, changed.

But I am also no longer the person I used to be. The sooner he realizes that the better.

--------------------------------------------

Kaito's POV.

"What? No 'I missed you so much Kaito'? C'mon. You at least need to give your best friend a hug after all these years" I said with a smirk.

"Yea. Not sure that's gonna happen."

"Well you're still as feisty as ever Saku."

"Things change."

I found myself frowning at her response. I knew that times had passed and we were different people now.

We both had to suffer.

She went through worse.

We had to endure the things life had thrown at us at a young age.

And yet for some reason it hurt to hear her say that.

Was it really a good thing that we had changed?

Or maybe it's because I had hoped she would be the same person I knew all those years ago.

As I was lost in thought, I felt small arms wrap around my torso and I jumped in surprise.

"I missed you Kaito. Of course I would never forget you."

Those are the words that I wanted to hear. I gave her a hug back in response.

'Crap. She's gonna be the death of me.'

But I knew this time, it was different.

Hey everyone!
I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LACK OF UPDATES.
Thank you for being patient with me and I am sorry for the short update.
I'm not really good at writing for long periods of time.

I also might do 3rd person POV from now on and just keep it like that for the time being unless I want to switch into one character's POV.

It's just hella tiring to do multiple POV's.
