Bleeding Heart

~The Next Day ~

I woke up on Aleasha's couch with Aleasha's head on my shoulder fast asleep and I was laying my head on hers and we had our feet on the couch but mine was criss cross and hers were on the side, I guess we feel asleep last night during the movie, well that would explain everything because we have seen "The Last Exorcism Part Two" a few more times than we should have and so it got boring after like watching it four times in a row. I shook Aleasha lightly to wake her up, but she wouldn't budge, "wake up sleepy head" I said to Aleasha shaking her one more time, but again she wouldn't budge, " WAKE UP!" I screamed in her ear and she jumped up so high to the point where she fell over the back of the couch, and I just sat there clutching my stomach cuz I was laughing so hard, she got up off the floor and brushed herself off like she had dust on her something and they made me laugh even harder "that's not funny you know" Aleasha said to me crossing her arms and glaring at me as she leaned on one foot and the other foot out "it is to me" I said still laughing "whatever dork" she said with a smile and then she climbed back over the to sit down "so what do you wanna do today?" She asked me while criss crossing her legs like mine "well first I have to call my mom and tell her I'm okay and that I fell asleep here while watching a movie with you" I said to her as I got up and pulled my phone out of my ripped Jean shorts, "then what do you wanna do after you call your mom" she asked me as she got up this time "I don't know, maybe we can go to the carnival all day if you want" I asked her while I smiled, here's the thing, we have a carnival at our town and it's open 24/7, "okay she said with a big smile plastered on her face "okay then, just let me call my mom and then we can go" I said to her as I walked to a different room so I could talk to my mom privately, but when I opened my phone, there were no missed calls and usually my mom calls me to see if I'm okay which it's weird cuz she hasn't called me yet, I just shook it off and looked for her contact name, when I finally 'Mom' I hit call and put it up to my ear and it rang and rang and rang, over and over again but no answer, something weird was going on cuz she usually answers at the second ring, so I tried calling my dad and he didn't answer either, 'what it's going on ' I thought in my mind, I walked back in the living room to look for Aleasha but she wasn't in there, so I went to go check in the kitchen and when I walked in, I found her making breakfast, "hey, what did your mom say" she asked me pulling me out of my thoughts "she didn't answer and neither did my dad, which is weird cuz they usually answer after the second ring" I told her and she gave me this weird look "that's weird" she said with her eyebrows scrunched "but I'm sure it's nothing, I'm sure they are just busy" she said smiling and continued making breakfast "I guess you're right" I said shrugging it off and smiling, I walked over Aleasha to help her finish making breakfast. 15 minutes later we were done making breakfast and we were now sitting down at the dinner table half way done of eating when there was a knock on the door, me and Aleasha looked at each other confused "who could that be" Aleasha said as me and her got up to go check the door, when we got to the door Aleasha slowly opened it and peeked out and I could see her eyes widening when she seen who it was, but I didn't "who is it" I asked Aleasha as I grabbed the door and opened it all the way, my eyes also widened at the sight of what I saw, it was a police officer "hello officer is there something wrong" I asked him nervously "which one of you is Marissa Hemley?" The officer asked and I pointed myself "I am officer, why what's wrong" I asked a little bit of nervous and anxious to know what was wrong "sorry miss Hemley but your parents were in a car crash" the officer said to me.

And that's when I felt a lump in my throat...
