Chapter 11 - Date

"Hey, um Lois?... its Mika.."

I stopped walking in the middle of the street and stood there in shock. My heart was beating so hard, any minute it would just burst out of my chest.

"Um... hey M-" After I had come out of my state of shock, I finally said something until I realised that the reporter might still be around, listening to my every word.

"Mum. Hey Mum"

"Er.. Lois its me, Mika"

"Um I can't speak right now, Mum. Call you later." I felt so bad, he must have been unbelievably confused, but I couldn't actually say his name out loud. That reporter would probably just run up to me, rip the phone from my hand and somehow track him down.

"Oh wait, I get it. You saw the magazines, huh? And your being followed? Where are you?" A faint giggle came from the end of the phone, how did he know all that?

"Yes Mum, I'm on Cat's road." I answered, looking around. There was nobody to be see but one thing ive learnt is that that doesn't mean anything.

"Yeah, I saw them too... uhm look, Lois do you wanna meet me? If your still being followed I can come and pick you up?"

What was I suppose to say to that? As much as I wanted to see him again, I couldn't. I'm not ment to be in well-known singer's life! Maybe I could just meet him and explain to him nicely that I don't want to be in involved in his games.

".... Um, no Mum, I'm fine. Shall I meet you in the gardens at 12?"

"Gardens near the town? I'll see you then."

"Bye Mum."

"Bye Babe." and he hung up.

Babe? Um, I'm no 'babe'.

As I walked the rest of the street I told myself I was only meeting him to say that (in the most polite way,) I don't want anything to do with him. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't.

"LOIS? Where the hell have you been!?!"

I turned around to see an angry Cat running from the end of the street to me.

"Cat! You will not believe what just happened!"

After she ran to catch me up she carried on shouting.

"I don't care! I was so worried, I thought you had been kidnapped! Who was on the phone was it-"

"Mum. Yea she was wondering if I was ok."

"Well... Are you?" she looked at me with raised eyebrows, then caught sight of the magazine in my hand and opened her mouth with wide eyes after realising that I was on it.

"Um... I don't know. Lets go back."

I looked back after guiding Cat back home, I swear I saw someone with a notepad and camera. Thank god I used a different name for him.

As we stepped in the front door, Cat immediatly snatched the magazine from my hand and began reading while I boiled the kettle.

"Holy shit Lois! These pictures are amazing! You look like a proper couple!" She shouted from the other room, it sounded like she ment it in a good way but it really wasn't.

"Exactly Cat!" I shouted back making some tea. "I'll get even more attention now that they think we're a couple! And we're not! And I don't want attention!" I came and joined her at the sofa.

"Lois, you said you would tell me everything in the morning. Its the morning now. So tell me everything. And then maybe you will be able to make sense out of it."

She had a point. Maybe I could work it all out better that way. So I explained it with as much detail as possible: the note, how good he looked when he was waiting backstage, how he wanted me to be a dancer, running from the cameras, him holding my hand, our conversations in the lift, when he took his shirt off, how he wasn't gay, the almost-kiss, how annoying she was when she called, the hug, both texts he sent, the Twitter hate, the online news artical, the comments, the photos, the reporter chasing me, the yelling, and right up to the phonecall today and how I'm meeting him in a few hours.

"Oh my god! This is a date! We need to get you ready!"

But before I could tell her that I simply wanted to let him know I ment nothing to him, she had already pushed me upstairs and began rummaging her wardrobes for my outfit, after she locked me in the bathroom to shower.

This wasn't a date... Was it to him?
