My name is Caleb Desert. Let me tell you about my day so far. My first day of freshman year, that is. I woke up 9 times in the dead of the night, dripping with cold sweat and shaking, all from the same nightmare. With a beautiful red covering my sight, next a white light shining through the red, then a terrible, horrifying darkness surging towards me and blanketing everything in shadow, blocking out sunlight and ending the world. I don't know why it terrified me so much, maybe it was school jitters,my mom would say. My dad would just tell me to man up and grow a pair. I have such loving parents. Anywho, after the tenth time of waking up,I got up and made myself breakfast. The breakfast burned,I took a shower, there was no hot water, I got out the cereal, only a few bits fell into my bowl. The morning was pretty sucky. Then I stepped out the door, and a bird pooped on my shirt. My favorite shirt. I went inside quickly to swap it for a wrinkled blue one. Then something weird happened. I saw a envelope addressed to me on the counter. I never get mail, unless it's prank mail. There was no return address so I dumped it in the trash to spare my mom the horror of reading more profanity about her son. Now you're caught up. I was now headed to the school bus stop, feeling even less chipper due to that stupid envelope. I already hate high-school and it hasn't even started yet. When I was at the stop, my mom pulled up in her car and told me to hop in.
"I don't want my mom taking me to school!" I tell her.
"We can stop a bit away from the school and you can walk the rest, your mom won't embarrass you ok?" I sigh and get in the car, Mom smiled and pinched my cheek lightly then drove. She stopped about half a mile from the school and let me out, when I turned around to say thanks, she was crying.
"What's the matter Mom?!" Gosh, this was a terrifying situation.
She wiped her tears and shook her head,"Your all grown up,my baby boy going to high-school!" She fell into more sobs but quickly regained herself and smiled at me once more. "Have a good first day honey." she farewelled and like that, she was off. My family is so weird. I walked into the school and went straight to my locker to unload my stuff, and I was immediately greeted by a very tall guy with blue hair and a beautiful girl with intriguing electric blue eyes and red hair. And I mean red hair, like the actual color of a strawberry. They were obviously siblings, if not twins. They guy was probably older actually, he was like 2 feet taller than me and the girl.
The red head spoke first,"Hi I'm Eve and this is my brother Blaine." Ha,so I was right. "People around here call us Red and Blue, for what reason I don't know." He joked,"Call me Blue."
I nodded. "I'm Caleb Desert." I said.
"We know, we're here to help you settle into school, we're like your supervisors slash tour guides." Blue says.
"And if you so choose, this school has dormitories and you could sign up, but you'd probably get some roommates." Eve says. Blue takes my schedule and looks at it.
"Your first class is over there." He says, pointing a few classes behind me.
"See you later." Eve says as they walk off. I look at my schedule again and stuff it in my locker, suddenly someone behind me yells,"Caleb?!" No way, it can't be.
I turn around and smile,"Percy Remirez! Its been forever!" He pushes his glasses up his nose and gives me a high five/man hug. "About 3 years precisely, but no biggie."
"Last time I saw you...How's your mom?"
"She's better, still treats me like I'm two."
"Same with mine, she pinched my cheek before dropping me off."
"That's nothing, my mom got me in a lock and sobbed all over my shirt."
"Well it's good to see you man," I say, glancing at the clock, "shall we let fate lead the way and just see each later, we're bound to have a class together." I point to the clock, almost time for bell.
"Later, man.I'm glad we ran into each other, though I'm surprised you go to this school." I was about to ask him what he meant by that but he already dashed away in the opposite direction of my first class. I hurriedly rushed into my class and took my seat. I immediately became aware that this was a class where the teacher just drones on and on the whole time, making students die of boredom.
"Today we're going to be talking about the theory..." My eyes began to droop, "It starts with the time of the caveman..." Then before I knew it, I fell into a deep sleep. My next few classes were a blur, being the first day not much was learned, I made a few new friends but nothing really significant happened, not that it should, this was high-school, but I couldn't get rid of the feeling something big was suppose to happen. The feeling made me distracted and I barely payed attention to any of my classes. Then when 5th period rolled around, it was time for gym. Great. Just great.
