Energy was generating from all around. Panthers and Broncos fans filled the arena with roars. Panthers were down by 14, it is now third quarter. You were honestly didn't know if they could make the two touchdowns. The game continued, Luke and the rest of the guys were playing wonderfully. The panthers were making all the right plays and executing them just as planned. The air was thick and the vibe was tense. Could the guys really pull this off?
The clock is running down, one minute left. The guys break from the huddle and put the play into action. Cam fires the ball down the field this is it, this will either make or break us. The ball is caught by Greg Olsen. We only needed that one touchdown, and we got it!
The team and all the panthers fans go absolutely crazy! Cheers echoed off the stadium walls, acceptance of defeat spread over broncos fan's faces, and the sweet taste of victory filled the stands. I ran onto the field and without hesitation I gave Luke the biggest hug.
"You did amazing baby!" I squealed. "I couldn't do it with out my good luck charm." He replied winking at me. People were now exiting the stadium and the guys headed towards the locker room. "Wait here sweetheart, I'll be out in 30 minutes." Luke said kissing my temple before heading in. To pass the time you were just thinking of how proud you were of Luke. He's an amazing athlete accomplishing his dreams. He just won the super bowl for God's sake. You could only imagine how happy Luke must be, but you had a secret that would be the icing on the cake.
You were exhausted and were praying for Luke to come out of the locker room. Without warning Luke spoke out "Are you ready?" His voice causing you to jump slightly. "Luke, don't ever do that again!" You say clutching your chest for the fast approaching heart attack. "Sorry Anna, you know I wouldn't scare the love of my life on purpose." He said pulling you close to him. "I know, but if you do it again under any circumstance you will sleep on the couch." You said with all seriousness. Your threat only caused Luke to chuckle.
You finally get home and you quickly changed into your pajamas and jumped into bed. "Someone's eager for sleep." Luke said smiling at you. "Of course, got to get enough sleep before it's too late." You said knowing Luke wouldn't understand. "What do you mean before it's too late?" Luke said with his eyebrows furrowed. You scooted closer to him, laying your head on his chest. "I'm pregnant, Luke." You said looking up at his face. His eyes bulged out of his head, "I'm gonna be a dad?" he wrapping his arms around your waist. "Yeah, and I highly suggest you get sleep too. Early morning practice and infants don't mix well." You said as Luke got up to turn off the lights. "I love you Anna, and I honestly can't wait for our angel to come." Luke said as he pulled your small body closer to his. "I can't wait either." You said with a smile on your face.
