Social services arrived at the house later in the afternoon. Luckily, my father showed up just in time. They checked everything. My room, my bathroom, my closet.
"Alright, Mr. Tudor." One of the service ladies said, "Your house seems safe for Elizabeth and since tomorrow she will be eighteen, I don't think it will really matter."
"Thank you, miss..." He tilted his head and smiled. Wow dad, using your charm and money to get you through things. Typical.
"Miss Alezandra Buttine." I rolled my eyes.
"Alright, Alezandra. Thank you so much." He smiled his infamous smile and winked. I mimed gagging, by sticking my index finger in my mouth and making gag noises. My father nudged me and smiled wider.
"You're welcome." She smiled and shook her shoulders. My eyes widened and I tried not to burst out laughing.
When she walked out the door and closed, my father and I burst out laughing.
"Did she really do that? Oh my god, dad. You've found a new wife!" I put my hands on my knees and tried to catch my breath.
"Oh, lord. Looks like we have to move." My dad sighed and wiped his eyes.
"You're kidding right? You really want to move because that lady is probably going to stalk you?" I frowned, still smiling a little.
"Not just that, Elizabeth. You were attacked today. We need to change locations if you want Lawrence and yourself safe." He looked down at me sternly.
I sighed, "Where will we go?"
"I already bought a new mansion that's closer to the firm. You should go upstairs and pack. The movers will be here any minute. And tell your brother to pack what he has. I feel like we need to protect him now."
"He's moving in?!" My eyes widened.
"Who is moving in?" That voice again. Oh no.
"Elizabeth?" My father frowned, "Are you okay?"
"Effy?" I turned around and saw Lawrence standing at the bottom of the stairs. I sighed in relief, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Don't worry." I sighed.
Lawrence frowned, but let it go, "So who's moving in?"
"You are." My father smirked.
"Why?"
"Don't ask why you idiot. You saw what happened yesterday and wouldn't you want to live in a nice and big mansion." I smiled up at him.
"I don't know.... I don't want to cause trouble." He crossed his arms.
"Nonsense!" My father exclaimed. I gave Lawrence my best puppy dog look and he sighed in defeat.
"Fine." I jumped up and down.
"Pack your stuff, son. We're going to the new house." My father patted Lawrence's shoulder."
"We're moving now?" He asked.
"Yuss! And we get to go shopping for new clothes for you. We can get other things, too. Like electronics or shoes." I smiled enthusiastically.
"Okay, okay." He smiled back.
We were in the car on our way to the mall, then out of no where my all time favorite song started playing on the radio.
"Awe shit!" I clapped my hands and Lawrence looked at me confused.
"What?"
"Well mama told me, when I was young
Said sit beside me, my only son
