Chapter 15 - Back to Work

I've been back to school for three days and i already wishing it was the weekend the halls were packed and i kept getting pushed around thou the boys were protecting me as much as they could, today is the day i go back to work i can't wait really i spoke to Uncle last night and asked if i can use his kitchen to bake a few cake's i'm in the mood to bake of course he said that is no problem so i go straight to the diner after school. That were i'm heading now to the car Luke and North both work tonight so they can keep an eye on me too which is great because everyone else has jobs to do the night and i don't fancy been on my own yet.

We finally got to the car and headed to the store to buy what i need 10 minutes later we were there  i climbed out and ran into the store bought everything i needed then went back to the car North was not happy "Jacey Baby how many times do i tell you don't run off like that okay" i nodded my  head i was watching outside of the window the world passing us by we finally got to the diner and saw Uncle "Hi Jacelyn did you manage to get your things you needed" "yes Uncle" "Good now go into the kitchen there's a space just for you" "thank you Uncle" then i went to the kitchen i started to get out all my ingredients and bowls within half an hour i had my cakes all prepped and ready to cook i put them in the oven and set the timer i made at least four rainbow cakes poor North will have a Heart Attack then i started to make home-made custard as well once all the cakes were cooked i started decorating with the icing i had. I finished all my cakes before i had to start my shift i washed everything i used then put the ingredients i had left in the cupboards i put one cake in a plastic cake holder and placed it in the fridge with a note saying Don't Touch then i placed the other cake's in plastic cake holders too but kept them on the counter top.

I went to the front and took over Tracey who was serving a family of three there was a little girl who looked really upset "hi my name is Jacelyn i'll be taking over as your waiter tonight can i offer deserts" "yes can we have two chocolate sundae's and a ice cream to" "i dont want ice cream momma please can i have cake" "they don't have cake darling they have non left" this little girl was sobbing i got on my  knee's and looked at her "hello cutie what is your name" "Ellie" "wow that is a really good name how much do you like cake" "i love cake" "oh really so do i and guess what i just made some rainbow cake now if its okay with your momma and daddy you can have some" "please momma" the women looked at me in relief "yeah that is fine" "great now i will be right back with your cake do you want custard to" she nodded her head i smiled at her and got up to go to the kitchen i took a bowl and cut up some cake then went to the warmer that had my custard in and poured some of it in not to much then i grabbed a spoon and took it to her when she saw the cake her face lit up "wow look momma its a rainbow" "wow ive never seen a cake like that before" said the women "thank you" "you welcome and the cake is on me" i walked back and finished of my other tables that needed serving. That night a few more children saw and wanted the rainbow cake and i couldn't help giving in but i smiled in joy because these children loved it.

Uncle,North and Luke POV

Cooking in the kitchen all day made my old bones stiff i decided to walk around the diner checking on all of our customers they all seemed really happy even the children looked pleased i noticed my staff were getting a lot of tips tonight including Jacelyn such a lovely girl the boys told me what she has been threw and i feel very protective of that girl. Some lady and her husband walked past me with their child "wow that was amazing we have to come back and defiantly try the rainbow cake and custard our girl sure enjoyed it" i wondered what he was talking about rainbow cake its not even on the menu hmm i wonder i kept walking around and talking to the customers everyone was saying how amazing the rainbow cake was i was utterly confused i went in the back and talked to my boys'

Uncle came in looking confused "what's wrong is Jacey baby okay" "yeah she's fine just everyone that had families tonight complemented on the rainbow cake that wasn't on the menu was i don't even thou what a rainbow cake is" "no Uncle its not on the menu and i haven't made it Luke have you made rainbow cake" Luke came over "no i haven't why" so Uncle told his story again now i'm confused just then Jacelyn came in "hi what's the matter is everything okay" "yeah we are fine just everyone was talking about the rainbow cake but no one made it tonight"  i saw Jacelyn put her head down and headed to her counter took something out that i could not see then went the the warmer then came back with a bowl in her hand "i'm sorry uncle that was my cake there was a little girl with autism and she wanted cake not ice cream i did tell the mother that it was me that made it and if she has any allergies to it it would be down to me not your diner she agreed once all the other kids saw they wanted it to but i did warn the adults to they said its fine here try  a little i have an extra one in the fridge for later" well i be dammed Uncle went and tried a 'bit then he smiled "no wonder the kids love this its bloody amazing can you make more at least once a week" she smiled so big "i love to"

Well i be dammed my cupcake can bake cakes ooh i need to try this so i took a bit and moaned hmm Uncle is right this is amazing "hey cupcake can you teach me to bake this" "of course i love to teach you" "North try this" to my amazement he tried it and actually moaned "hmm Jacey baby this tastes great" "okay i have to take Jacelyn back so pack up grab your tip jar and lets go" i saw her go into the fridge and took out a huge freaking rainbow cake then she poured the custard into a tub then grabbed her jar which was over filled i took her to Mr Blackbournes and watched her in then headed home for the night.
