I pulled my hood up and walked through the forest. Suddenly, I heard the faint sound of police sirens in the distance.
I thought to myself, "The police will be searching for me soon, I should get going."
I started to walk faster until I felt something stick to my foot.
"What the hell is this?"
I picked my foot up and noticed I stepped in a black, tar-like substance. There was a trail of it, leading behind a tree. Confused, I slowly followed the trail to the end. I gasped at the image before me. There was a man; well I think it was a man, gnawing at the organs of what used to be a human. His eyes were dripping with the same black muck that I stepped in. He turned to me and said, " Nice, fresh meat. I’m always in the mood for seconds."

The man ran towards me attempting to cut open my stomach. I dodged him and pulled out my knife.
"Hmm, you’re quick. This should be interesting." the creature said. He grabbed me by my neck and started to strangle me. Struggling for air, I raised my shaking hand and plunged my knife into his leg. The man dropped me and clenched his leg. His blood started pouring out onto the ground, but he just chuckled. I stared at him puzzled as he began to drink the blood streaming down his leg. I watched in awe as he licked his leg clean, smiling the entire time.

"What’s your story, huh? No one has ever stayed alive after a fight with me." the man said. "You are the only one who wasn't afraid."
"I don’t really have a ‘story’. And it takes a lot for me to be afraid." I muttered.
"Impressive. Killing is an art, and you seem like you know what to do. What’s your name?"
"Emma. A-And yours?" I said nervously.
"Jack, the name’s Jack." he said.
I was still unsure if Jack was going to try and grab me again, so I watching him closely. He stared at my knife and looked at me,
"What? You don’t trust me? Ha, you’re alright… for now."
Slightly relieved, I turned to walk away but I heard Jack ask, "Hey, where are you going?"
I turned to look at him again and smiled, "I’m not exactly sure. Nowhere… Everywhere."
He stood up and said, "Well, I’d like to see you again. Maybe we can finish what we started."
I grinned, "Sure, just look for a girl in a bloodstained orange hoodie."
