I pulled my hood over my head. l couldn't face the teasing and taunting by my peers. I held my trading card book close to me. I just didn't get why everyone was always teasing me about it! Pokémon is extremely popular. Well some people say I am out of control with it, but that is not true! Pokémon are real and they are our friends! I finally slummed in the corner or the playground. I opened my book. Right in front, was my giant Flygon card. I smiled. This card had always been my favorite. After all, my brother did give it to me after he left to serve in the military. As the wind blew my fiery hair vigorously, I took out the card. A tough looking Flygon popped out of the card. Green and red fireworks bursting out from Flygon. On the top left corner is said "Captin" and "EX". It also had the moves, "Dragon Rush" and "Bulldoze" and the ability "Levitate". Also, my brother's signature was on the bottom right corner. He won the globals with Captin. He gave me the exact card he used to win. It must have been neat to win and be the best Pokémon trainer there is...

Milly stood in front of me. Her brown eyes glimmered with hatred and maliciousness. I could tell she was going to launch another selfish comment.

"You are crazy," she spat. I crossed my arms and tilted my head in a mocking way. "Everyone knows Pokémon arn't real!" she laughed and it rang through my ears.

"That's what you think!" I laughed. I snapped my fingers. The floor below us dropped and we were both falling toward who knows where. Milly screamed and cried.

"Are you nuts! WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO SEND BOTH OF US TO OUR DEATH!!!!!" she screamed for her life. I remained silent with my arms still crossed, and eyes sealed shut. "Hello! Are you listening to me!" she shouted in my face.

"Tsk tsk tsk my dear. You are the one who is falling to your death," I said mysteriously. Milly gave me a "What???" look. "Captin! Report for duty!" I whistled. Just then, a huge Flygon swooped down right under me and lifted me up.

"What! What about me! Megan? Friend?" Milly begged. I laughed as Captin ascended gracefully in a spiral while calling out her mighty cry.

"Megan! Snap out of it!"

I was shook back to reality. I looked back down at my card. I saw a sparkle in Captin's eye, I looked back up. It was Milly and her posse. She popped her bubble gum. Her friend Lassie spoke.

"Ya still dreamin' bout' ya, well uh, Captin?" Lassie laughed. She had a strong New York accent for a nine year old. Her other friend, Sissy (I don't know where the heck they get their nick-names from), spoke now. She had a high, squeaky voice.

"Yeah Lassie's right! We need to snap you out of this!" Sissy tapped Milly. She smiled and gave an "Ah" and after a few seconds, Lassie went "Ah" the same way, but still sounded a tad confused.

"Well you're right Sissy! Lets just yank this card from this dreamer!" Milly ripped the card right out of my hands.

"Hey!" I shouted. I jumped up.

"What are you gonna do about it! You are just a nobody!" Sissy taunted.

"Oh yeah!" I muttered. I rolled my sleeves up and jumped up to grab the card. I did a tuck and roll when I hit the ground. I had the card safely in my pocket.

"Get her!" Lassie shouted. They started to run after me. I grabbed my book and ran for my life. Ran for my Captin. I ran around to the rock wall. I bit down on my book as I climbed the wall. When I got to the top, I had no where to run. I stuttered.

"Captin! Report for duty!" I shouted as I held Captin's card in the air.  Nothing happened. Milly and her posse laughed. I shoved my card higher into the air.

You could probably guess what happened next.

But anyway, that was six years ago. I'm 15 now and I kinda got over the Pokémon thing. I am now a skilled athlete. I'm on my high school Volleyball team with my friends, Milly, Lassie, and Sissy. We became friends when I realized Pokémon could never be real and Milly accepted me. They were cheerleaders, but I enjoyed volleyball much more. They were OK with this, they cheer me on sometimes. Anyway, I was the MVP. I could jump the highest and slam the ball the hardest. So you could say I was pretty good.

"OK! Today we will be scrimmaging with the boys team!" Coach said as we were warming up. As I finished my last few toe touches, I saw the boys volleyball team walk in. Milly swooned as they walked in. I rolled my eyes. So what if they were well built and good looking, they were stuck up jocks. I stood in the front middle spot. Ready to go. Milly and her friends cheered, but not for me.

"Common guys! Show your stuff! Show those girls you can take more than enough!" they were backed up with pep.

"Whatever," I muttered. The coach blew the whistle and my teammate served the ball. It was returned back to the back right and then to the front left. Then it finally came to me. I jumped up in the air and slammed it down. Then the star of the boys team slammed it back right in my face. I hit the ground as my vision blurred. The coaches and players ran up to me. I saw Milly snickering and the boy who hit me shocked.

Then I heard a familiar call.
