I rose slowly. My head ached and my blood didn't reach my brain. I waited a few seconds before attempting to rise. When I did my blood finally rushed to the top of my head leaving my head throbbing hysterically and being unable to open my eyes for a moment. When my body finally found me, I took a look around at my surroundings. I was deep in a forest. I couldn't see the sky, all I saw was dark green shadowed treetops. Then I saw something move. It looked like a giant yellow hand. I looked down. I was still in my volleyball uniform. That would have to do. I grabbed a hold of the branch and worked my way up. I sat on the top branch and tried to figure out where I was.
"Ai-Ai-Ai-Aipom!"
I was full alert. I looked around and clutched on the branch. I heard the cry again. An Aipom stuck it's head out. I screamed and lost grip of the branch. I hit the ground yet again, and the wind was knocked out of me.
Maybe I died. I died and ended up in Pokéheaven!
It felt like hours I lied there, when finally a shadow towered over me for a split second. I shot up. The figure was gone. It must've been a dragon Pokémon, by the swift way it moved. But then I realized I should probably get going and look for a town. Or at least some shelter. But I really needed a change of clothes if I was going to survive around these anime monsters. But one things for certain, if I was going to be stuck in the world of Pokémon, I was going to need one for myself.
I started hiking down the path. I realized it must've lead somewhere. But at one point, the path just stopped.
"You have got to be kidding me. What happened to the easiest and most naive game on Earth!" I shouted out, like someone would answer. As I just dropped down on my knees and started to cry, the same shadow came over me. I shot back up this time. I looked around, but this time to find a male Flygon. I jumped back without saying a word, or releasing a scream. We stared at each other for several moments, until it started to growl. It appeared to somehow become agitated. I crawled back slowly and swallowed hard. Then out of no where, another Flygon tackled the other one to the ground, still in flight. The male Flygon easily got up, and launched itself at the other. When the Flygon retaliated with an even more powerful swipe, ten more Flygons and a few Vibravas attacked. That's when I lost it. I screamed my head off. The Flygon that rescued me grabbed me by the stomach with her sharp claws. I cringed, but it hurt a lot less than I thought. I shifted into a more comfortable position. When she didn't budge, I realized this Flygon was not trying to hurt me... she was rescuing me. I looked back. The pack of Flygons and Vibravas were close behind.
"You might wanna hurry it up!" I barked at the Flygon. She shot me a look, probably because of the accidental tone I used with her. I gave a sheepish smile and the Flygon started to descend. The Flygons quickly followed, but the Vibrava were too far behind to realize. The Flygon hit the ground and set me on a large rock like I was it's hatching or something. Then I realized we were no longer in a forest, but a meadow. It was vivacious, stunning, and the air was thin and relaxing.
I would have stopped and smelled the flowers if a brutal fight for territory wasn't going on right in front of my eyes.
All the Flygon pounced on her, but she bursts out and heads for the sky. I stand up on my rock. I can't see much that was going on, but I could hear muffled cries and a few tails barley visable above the clouds. And for once, there was nothing I could do. All my life I have been able to do something to turn the game around, but now I really had no power in this world. I was not even worthy! Not even thanking this Flygon for saving my life when it could fall to the ground any second, fighting for one last breath, covered in scars and wounds. My stomach had never felt so sick, but for some reason, I wanted it to feel sicker. I wanted myself to feel the hurting and pain the Flygon must be feeling. But I was in the Pokémon world now, and I needed to be braver than I ever was on Earth. I had to use my imagination, use my brain and find a way to make a difference.
After all, isn't that what always happeneds in this game?
The Flygon fell to the ground.
"No," I sobbed quietly. I hopped off the rock and tended to her. She was breathing heavily, but it's heart was still beating normally, but it couldn't take much more. She had a largo scar across her chest, and it was gushing blood. I took off my shirt (yes I was wearing an undershirt) and wrapped it around her chest. It barely fit, but it was better than nothing. Then, an amazing thing happened. the only thing that clearly showed from my shirt was the word "Captin". I gasped and put my delicate hands over my mouth. It was misspelled purposely, because my teammates thought I was odd in a good way and they spelled the word "Teem Captin" on the back of my shirt. It was just until this moment that I realized it was the same way my brother had spelled Captain on his Flygon card. How blind could I have been? My brother died two years ago in the military and I couldn't even recognize his good-bye gift two years later?! I laid my head on Captin and cried. The other Flygons landed. The leader of the pack had a huge scar across his face, and one of his eyes was sealed shut. Captin made him blind in one eye. I rose slowly and stood firm in front of Captin. It was time to do my part.
"Enough! You have won this! If you have an ouce of mercy just leave! Even if this Flygon may die in minutes, even seconds, you don't have to stay and take pleasure in it!" That's when I lost my grip. I started to cry even more. "So...Just...LEAVE!"
The Flygons took a step back. All except the male. It walked up to me and growled. I still stood firm, even though on the inside I was sobbing hysterically, I hope it didn't show. The Flygon took one good swipe at me, and then fled with his pack. Everything seemed blurry for a moment, but then I realized Captin was gone. I rose, heartbroken. How could she just leave me here? Instead of frowning and crying, I shouted in frustration, then hit the ground again, holding my chest, which too had a scar. Then the shadow appeared again. It was Captin. I rose again to see into its eyes. It blinked and extended it's talons with powder in a leaf. I took it, confused. Captin took off my now bloody uniform to show me her scar had almost completely faded. It must have been because of the powder. My curiosity got the best of me and I swallowed the sweet mixture. It was like bitter-sweet sugar, I wanted more for how good it tasted. The small scar on my chest reduced to nothing but a scratch in seconds. I smiled and extended my hand to pet Captin.
"Thank you," I breathed softly. I turned around and started to leave. Captin let out a small cry and flew in front of me. I smiled.
"Now this, Is Pokémon," I laughed.
