After my death, my spirit remained in the house until each of the other girls died from starvation or dehydration. One by one, the girls vanished, but for some strange reason...I was the only person that stayed in the house after dying. Everyone else was lucky enough to be able to leave for a journey to the sky whilst I had to experience them going.
Even with all of the agony I had when I saw everything, I got to see something truly spectacular. One girl did not die, did not starve or did not become dehydrated… Elsie was able to live on after the war because she did not pass from any challenge. She stayed in that house for two years before being found when the war ended. I was never able to figure out how she did it or how she lived in my small house with no one to help her or care for her. Normally, a person can not live a week without food and water but she was able to survive through 104 of them.
I will never forget Elsie. She lived to the age of ninety eight until dying of old age.
I will never forget how she was the only one who cared enough about me to come find me in my parents’ bedroom, cold, pale...dead.
I will never forget her.
