Chapter Two
BEFORE
Fiona and Kyle

"But you love her!", his voice was firm, but full of sorrow and the boy with dark-brown hair and pine-green eyes nodded while tears were slowly falling down his blushed cheeks.

"I do", he sobbed as he fell on his knees. Both of his hands covering his face, avoiding his best friend Aiden to see him like this.

"Then why don't you stop her from leaving?!", Aiden yelled. Anger traveled through every single vein of his body while Kyle pulled his knees to his chest, burying his face in between them.

"Because I love her and I want her to be happy even if that means that she loves another man", his voice was a quiet whisper.

Kyle didn't stop his tears from falling. He accepted them just like they were. A sign of his deep love towards Fiona. A girl who he has known for several years now. A girl who had him wrapped around her tiny fingers without knowing that she did. She was everything he could have ever dream of. Warm-hearted, polite and generous.

"NO! NO! I can't accept that", Aiden shouted with strong voice before he grabbed Kyle's hand and pulled him up onto his feet. He couldn't understand how his best friend could give up that easily. He didn't understand why he wasn't trying to stop Fiona from leaving.

It had been her parents who suggested that she should return home and for some inexplicable reason, she decided to go. To go somewhere where the three of them wouldn't see each other again.

She would get married to a man she never loved if both of them didn't try to stop her. Something, she had never told the two of them. It was her decision to keep it a secret. Fiona knew that her parents wouldn't force her to anything, but she wanted to make them happy. Happy that their daughter could take responsibility and help her parents out since her father's business was currently in trouble and needed the money. The money her new husband would sponsor.

"I won't!", Kyle yelled angrily while Aiden dragged him out of his house and into a taxi. Not even his yelling would stop him to help his best friend to find true happiness.

"Kyle, just shut up, won't ya?!"

"Why are you doing all this?! Her father told us that she is going to get married. What is there to fight for, Aiden?!", he asked with broken voice as he stared out of the window, observing how raindrops collided with the thick glass.

"Fiona doesn't love him", his best friend muttered under his breath and Kyle stared at him with his eyes wide open.

"H-How do you know?", the boy with dark-brown hair and pine-green eyes stuttered and Aiden gave him a weak smile.

"I just do."

"Maybe she does", Kyle whispered low before Aiden slapped his right cheek once. A sharp pain traveled through Kyle's face and he stared at his best friend shocked.

"What was that for?!", he hissed, but Aiden just smiled.

"Stop being a coward and fight for the girl you love", he growled with a serious tone in his strong voice and Kyle stared at him confused, even irritated.

While the two boys were currently sitting in a taxi, making their way to the airport, the girl with a fake smile on her face stepped out of the car and into the cold November air surrounding her. With an empty mind, she arrived at the airport which was going to separate her from her life. The life she had learned to admire. The life she wanted to live. Her parents sacrificed everything for her to be able to live her dream and now it was her turn to sacrifice this dream in order to pay them back.
