3. Planning for Disaster

Mika's POV:

The school yard - 8:00am

'Damn it!' I thought to myself as I ran into school. What is he doing here so early? More importantly, why is he running? No, no, no. This can't be happening, why today of all days? I have to shake him off my tail, but he's coming right for me, I don't know what to do! Wait, is that... IT IS! Finally, a stroke of luck, there was an open window in one of the classrooms, I'm going to have to jump out of it, so it's a good job we're on the ground floor still. I jumped out and made a sharp left turn, knowing that Yuu would try to cut me off by running through the corridor rather than following me out the window. As soon as I head his footsteps moving away from me, I climbed back in through the window, everyone in the room giving me a puzzled look like I was crazy. I didn't have time to feel embarrassed though, I just ran straight out of the classroom and upstairs to the roof. Hopefully Yuu wouldn't think to look for me there.

The roof - 8:10am

"Well, look who decided to show up to his own meeting, did you have trouble finding the place or something?" Shinoa asked sarcastically.

"Umm yeah, something like that, sorry guys" I replied sheepishly.

"So, are you going to tell us why you made us come here or what?" Mistuba asked impatiently.

"Yeah, and what was up with that list of items you asked us to bring along, seems pretty creepy dude, I mean... Candles? Rose petals? What are you up to?" Shiho pried.

I guess I have to tell them "Well guys, the thing is... wow, this is hard even trying to say it to you guys, I don't know how I'm actually going to tell Yuu-" ...

"Tell Yuu what?" Yoichi asked, eyes suddenly wide with some dormant realisation of what was going on and why they'd all been summoned here.

Here goes nothing, I guess this will be a good test to see how Yuu might react. I gulped down hard, trying to find the words. "You see, I'm going to tell Yuu that I love him... like 'love him' love him, if you know what I mean?" I admitted quite painfully.

*Screams*

"OH MY GOD, SERIOUSLY?" Shinoa asked, with a massive heart-warming smile of acceptance stretching from one side of her face to the next. It made me feel so relieved when I looked around and saw that they were all smiling, even innocent little Yoichi seemed to be beaming at me. I felt like I might cry, but there was still a lot we had to do, and between being 10 minutes late running from Yuu and spending this time explaining the situation, we had hardly any time left to prepare. So I broke down the situation a little further.

"Yes seriously guys, It makes me really happy seeing you react like this, but I need you to help me out really quickly now, could you possibly spread out and light all of the candles across the whole rooftop and spread the rose petals around please? It would mean so much to me!" I pleaded.

"Oh calm down Mika" Mitsuba snorted "You don't have to ask us so seriously, you're practically begging us here, there's no need for that though, you're a friend of Yuu's and that makes you a friend of all of us here. Even if it meant we got to lesson 30 minutes late and got detention, we're going to help you out. Right guys?" She asked, looking around at the group.

"Of course we'll help you Mika!" They all replied simultaneously, causing us all to laugh cheerfully. That made me so happy, I had to fight so hard not to burst into tears as we all took some candles and matches and lit them around the roof, scattering the rose petals as we made our way to the exit. The bell went for lesson just as we were preparing to leave and our classroom was at the other side of the school. We were definitely going to be 5 minutes late, but it was worth it in my opinion.

The classroom - 8:35am

We all walked in and took our seats, I noticed everyone else looking directly at Yuu as we entered the classroom, causing a few of the other students to look over to him as well, I wonder if he noticed, what could he be thinking about it if he did? I hope he doesn't think we were saying anything bad about him. They were smirking quite mischievously after all. Oh well, even if he is thinking that, everything will all become clear to him during our break after this lesson. The only thing left to do now was wait.

*30 minutes into the lesson*

Oh no. Not now, please not now, not today...
