Tales of the Dead 1 Mortalus Immorta Rises

Chapter 6

Gudbrand wakes up in a gold-like contraption. Merlin is standing at a controller with some buttons and levers. Gudbrands tries to talk but something is in his mouth, stopping him of producing any sound. Merlin looks to him. "This might tickle a little. Or feel like you are burning alive." and he flips a lever.

Energy streams trough his body. Pain levels rise and fall. Suddenly Gudbrand sees himself, sitting in the contraption. Armor is forming around his body. A belt forms around his middle. A hammer materializes in his hand. Electricity crackles around his fingertips. Gudbrand sees his muscles swell. He is going trough a bodily transformation. Suddenly he sinks back into his body. Merlin shuts the machine of and comes over to get him out of his binds but Gudbrand simply rips them of. He spits out the fabric in his mouth. "So now I have my powers and I can contribute, let's do some contributing then." Gudbrand says. Merlin sighs "Hold your eight legged horse there Scandinavian. We don't have a plan yet. Mortalus Immorta is currently hunting us. Ares is the god of war, but Immorta also has some godly companions. Seth, Loki, Zeus for some reason and don't forget Hercules, his son."

Jamie enters the room and sees Gudbrand, now in the form of Thor. "Dude, nice, this may be just the advantage we need. We are going to pick up a new god. I sensed his presence. We need to reach him before Mortalus Immorta does." "Okay, lets go then. Gives me an opportunity to look at just how strong I am."

When Merlin finishes his spell, we arrive in a rural village. Everyone looks pretty normal. Gudbrand is just wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Ares is in kaki pants and just a light blue blouse. Mazu still looks to hot for words but in her long skirt and high cut shirt it's not too distracting. Merlin looks like an average teenager gamer. wearing black pants, a nirvana shirt and an phone in his hand. Jamie is equally black clothed but instead of Nirvana shirt, he is wearing a leather jacket with chains, quite funny.

We walk into a front porch of a farm and immediately are greeted by a weird sight to behold. We see a little boy riding a lion, while several other lions are playing in the grass. The weirdest of all is that the lions are the size of elephants. Ares tenses up and reaches for his back, where his blade is hidden in the veils of darkness. Jamie halts him. "Hey there boy, what's your name?" "Spare me your talk reaper." The boy suddenly says, with a voice of a grown man. He slides of his lion. "I will not help you, i may have accepted my powers, but I will not partake in the quarrels of mortals. I am also quite aware that there are reapers present who are theoretically able to "kill" me, however I do not require your help in defending my immortality. So, if you think you have something to offer, this is your moment, else leave now or I will make you." The boy introduces himself as Maahes, the god of lions

Jamie opens his mouth and closes it again. Then he quickly looks up. "Duck." Everything goes fast suddenly. A helicopter suddenly becomes visible. Ares summons his blade and leaps into the air. I summon a cloud above it and ready a lighting strike. Maahes starts whispering to his lions. Jamie goes reaper mode, his cloak appears and a 2 meter long scythe appears too. Mazu just stands there. Merlins cloack starts glowing and magic is being readied.

I make my lighting come down but just as it hits the helicopter a man in a white suit flies out and catches it. his white ring-beard unmistakably marks him as Zeus. He launches it back and I jump forward and catch it with my hammer before it hits Ares. I swing my hammer at Zeus and launch after it to go duke it out with him. Ares jumps up at the helicopter and draws his sword. He slices trough the air and the helicopter splits into two and falls to air.

Before it hits the ground it fades and shows it was an illusion. Out of the real helicopter jumps a white man with dark black hair. His huge black axe seems like a match for Ares. And they jump at each other to also duke it out. Seth and Hercules also jump out and a reaper also jumps out. The reaper flies at Jamie, Seth launches at Maahes and Hercules jumps at Merlin. Mazu just continues to stand there. This all happened in half a second.

Then we all clash.
