I sat at Jaxon's bedside, holding his hand. Tears resurfaced my eyes again. I had been here all day, and we missed school, cuz I know Justin's ass didn't go.

So we'll be late on our project.

Oh well.

This is way more important.

Pattie and Shaun went and took Hannah home, she had a charity event to go to tomorrow morning, so she had to go home.

And they went to rest, and their coming back later tonight. So I told them I'd stay and take care of Jax, make sure nothing else happened.

And if he woke up, I'd be here to talk to him, so he wouldn't be alone. He's been out since he got out of surgery.

But the anesthesiologist said they had to gas him pretty well, to get him to stay asleep through the whole operation, and he would probably sleep a while after.

They sure weren't kidding.

My phone was vibrating, and I grabbed it seeing it was my mom.

Mama : how is he?

I told her what happened, I had to, because I wasn't coming home anytime soon, didn't need her worrying.

Ariana : still sleeping.. 😓

Mama : he's gonna be alright Ari, I'm just glad you were there at the right time. I'm praying hard for him. Love you. ❤️

I smiled and typed back with one hand, my other held Jax's hand.

Ariana : thank you mama, I really needed that right now. I'm glad I was too, I just wish it wouldn't have went that far. But I know he's gonna alright. Love you too. ❤️❤️

I felt my hand get squeezed, ever so slightly. I dropped my phone onto my lap, and looked up.

Jax's eyes squeezed shut, before slowly opening. "A-Ariana.." He said.

"Jax!," I smiled, wrapping him in a big hug. He groaned, and I released him quickly.

"Sorry, I forgot," I say, looking down at the bandages around his stomach area.

"It's fine.." He smiled. "Thank you, for saving me," he said.

"You don't need to–,"

"Stop it. I do, yes I do, you saved my life, and I am forever grateful," he told me.

"Well.. you're welcome, but you still don't need to say that Jax," I say.

He shrugs.

"Where is my family?," he asks groggily.

"Shaun and your mom went home, to take Hannah, she has some charity event tomorrow, and they went to rest, they'll be back later,"

"Justin?,"

My heart sank.

"Uhm.. I don't know" I put my head down in shame.

"What do you mean?,"

"We sorta got into a fight before he left, he was talking about hurting the boys who hurt you, he said he needed to blow off steam, we were supposed to get breakfast, but we got into an argument about him leaving, and he said I don't control his choices,"

"I told him if walked out, and screwed up his life, that we'd be done, he said I don't get to make his choices, and he guesses he doesn't like me that much,"

Jax rolled his eyes.

"He's such a dick sometimes,"

I laughed and nodded.

"But.. he lied, he does care about you, probably more than he can even begin to explain,"

"Thanks," I say.

He smiles, nodding slightly.

"Speaking of lying.. why did I have to lie about those boys hurting you?,"

His eyes parted, and he swallowed.

"Can I get a cup of water, and then I'll tell you," he says.

I grabbed a cold water I bought from the café earlier, and handed it to him.

"Start talking," I say.
