"Google, are you awake?"I was awoken by an all too familiar voice. I shakily blinked open my eyes, and winced as an intense bright light flooded through the blackness. As my blurry vision returned to normal I felt a stabbing pain course through my head. Grunting, my hand flew up to rub the aching spot. I forced myself into a sit.
"Ugh. Jack, is that you? What happened?"
"You were knocked out after that beast caught you off guard and slammed you into the wall. Luckily, you guys fighting left me with enough time to find Matthias and escape with him."
I let out a sigh of relief. That meant that Matthias was okay.
"That's good. Also, where the hell am I?"
"You tell me. Where are you right now?"
I pushed myself to my feet, trying to ignore the painful dent in my head. Dents also lined my arms and legs. 'I must have gotten pretty beat up. Stupid Cryaotic.' My eyes narrowed as I gazed around the small room that I was currently in. The room was pure white, so white that it was almost blinding to look at. It had no windows or doors, with the exception of a long blacked out window along the top corner of the wall that I was currently facing.
"Strange. It looks like a prison cell in there! As for your injuries, I assumed that they would be minor. Nothing that a visit to the Google store can't fix! And that thing has a name?"
"Wait, you aren't in here too? And how did you know that I was thinking about my injuries?"
Something was definitely off here.
"Well, no. I'm not the one that launched myself recklessly at the intruder with no thoughts of how hurt I could get! You could have been killed!"
Jack sounded like he was getting mad now. I wondered why. Unlike him, I'm intelligent enough to protect myself, and our master."I had to protect Matthias! Don't tell me that you wouldn't have done the same!"
Both of us fell silent. Jack coughed awkwardly to break the silence.
"Answer me! How did you know what I was thinking?"
"Well, I may have planted a chip into your hard drive so that I could speak into your ear and hear what you were thinking in case this kind of situation happened."
"You what?!?! You can't just mess with my hard drive like that! You could have deactivated me with one wrong move! This is serious, Jack!"
'This robot just gets more and more stupid! I can't believe we're both the same robot type!......... But what if I had been deactivated?' I thought before I remembered that Jack could read my thoughts. I heard him tense up.
"I had to! And don't you dare say that nothing would happen where I would need to be able to communicate with you like this, because it just has! Now, could you zoom in on that window for me? Oh, I can also see whatever you see. Sorry I forgot to mention that!"
I sighed, shaking my head. 'I just have to put up with him until I find a way out of here. That's it. And the next time that I see him, I will smash his stupid mechanical face in!' I reassured myself. Then I begrudgingly did what my new companion asked, and zoomed in with the built in camera's in my eyes. Although the window was mostly blacked out, I could still barely see through it. Behind the window was an even smaller room that was lined with computers and other technology that I couldn't even identify. I heard Jack gasp in horror.
