Chapter 1
"You looks just as beautiful today as you did 130 years ago, Tessa," Jem said with a smile. His smile always lit up his face like the sun, which was one of the many things Tessa loved about him. She looked into his eyes and gave him the best smile she could manage.
It had been four months since Jem and Tessa rekindled their love. It had been a great few months. They'd traveled all across the world. Italy, Brazil, Shanghai, where Jem showed Tessa all of his favorite places from when he was a child, Russia, and even New York. It had felt just like they were back in 1879, madly in love. Of course, stories of Will always came up somehow in conversations between them, and you could see the hurt in Jem's eyes at the mention of Will's name, which was most likely in her eyes as well.
It felt weird being in love again. 130 years and she'd done little as looked at any man, because when she did all she could see was the magnificent blue eyes of Will, or the silvery hair of her current lover. She would sometimes feel lonely without the two men she loved, but she always had Magnus. Tessa took trips to New York to see her warlock friend regularly, they had gotten quite close. But he would never be a friend like Will, or Jem. Those two were irreplaceable, and without them she was broken. But when Jem had met her on Blackfriars Bridge, cured and no longer a Silent Brother, only four months ago, something in her clicked, and she was no longer broken. That's what Jem does, he fixes you. Whether it's with words, gestures, or even his music. Something about him-
"Tessa, dear, are you alright?" His voice snapped her out of her reverie.
"Yes, I'm fine. Just tired."
"Would you like to go home to sleep?" He always cared about her, whether she was tired or had a small cold, he never failed to make sure she got everything she needed.
"No, I want to spend time with you," Tessa gushed with a smile.
They were sitting at a fancy rooftop restaurant in the heart of London, enjoying a very romantic dinner. Jem was looking right into Tessa eyes when he said, "Okay, then, let's go home, since we've finished." And a smirk rose across his face.
When they got back to their one bedroom apartment, Jem instantly pulled Tessa into a hug. He often did this. Grateful to have Tessa back, she guessed. After a few moments Jem shifted and started kissing Tessa, first on the jaw, then, cheek, then finally her mouth. It was a sweet kiss, Jem's kisses rarely weren't sweet. He seem to have a way of being soothing yet firm. They finally broke apart, and mentally agreeing it was time for bed, went to their bedroom, arms still around eachother. When they got to the bedroom, which was a light shade of peach with cream colored bedding, they laid down facing eachother, noses a centimeter apart. And in an instant they were kissing again, harder this time. Jem was kissing down her jaw to her neck while Tessa fingers got lost in his hair. He attempted to take her blouse off and with Tessa's help pulled it over her head. Soon Jem's shirt was off too, and Tessa's was on top of him. The kisses were more desperate and passionate, no longer soothing and smooth. They soon got lost in eachother, not even knowing what they were doing.

Tessa woke to the sound of cars honking and birds chirping outside. She was wrapped in the cream colored sheets, curled up against Jem, their bodies fit together like pieces of a puzzle. He was sound asleep. He looked peaceful and beautiful. Jem's looks always took Tessa's breath away. He was stunning. Absolutely stunning.
"Good morning, beautiful," Jem murmured, eyes closed. Tessa found herself blushing, not realizing Jem was awake while she was staring at him.
"Sleep good?" She asked, his answer was a slight nod of his head. "I'm going to make breakfast. Eggs?" Another nod, he was obviously very tired.
Tessa got out from under the covers, finally noticing she wore no clothes. With a gasp she grabbed her purple silk robe from the wardrobe. Hastily she put it on and started making her way down the hallway to the kitchen. While beginning to cook she found herself humming one of Bridget's old Irish songs.
She finished cooking and set Jem and her own breakfast plates at the small dining table and called to Jem. He came in a few minutes later clean, shaved and dressed with a big smile on his face.
"You look lovely, Jem."
"Thank you, honey. This breakfast looks delicious."
But suddenly Tessa did not want to eat the delicious looking breakfast, she felt a sort of sickness she'd never felt before. "I don't feel well, please excuse me." She ran to the bathroom and with a startled look Jem followed her. In the bathroom, Tessa began retching all that was in her stomach, which wasn't much. After it seemed like nothing could come up anymore she stood up, and felt very dizzy. There were three Jems standing in front of her, with equally worried and frightened faces. His mouth was forming words, but Tessa heard none of them. She saw his arms reach out for her, with one last look into his eyes, she collapsed into his arms.
