"Can we?" (A Robbie Kay Story.)

Chapter 3.

Diana's pov.

The next morning I woke up, I actually felt kinda happy, and was looking forward to today. I went downstairs and ate some frosties, and then got back upstairs, running a bath. I also checked my phone, not sure if I should text Robbie yet or wait a little longer. I put my phone down and get into the bath, I love taking baths because they are just so relaxing.

I keep thinking about yesterday, i'm still suprised that he choose to call me, but I don't mind. He seemed really happy at the end of the day, and I was very glad to see that.
My phone beeps.

-Hii, are you awake yet? Robbie.-
I can't help but smile.

-I've been awake for a while now actually. X Diana.-

-I've been awake for hours, but didn't wanna wake you up! How are you?-

That's the sweetest..
-I'm fine, just taking a bath. What about you then?-

I get out of the bath and let the water run away. I dry myself and then put some clothes on. I look at my phone, Robbie hasn't answered yet. I sigh, but brush my teeth and dry my hair, putting it in a pony tail. I decide to just sit on my bed, waiting. I start to wonder what we are gonna do today, we didn't really discuss it yesterday, so we still have to come up with something. I saw that the weather was pretty good, so maybe we could go for a walk, or have a picnic or something like that. I just stare at the ceiling, what's taking him so long to reply? I let out a sigh, he can take his time, he also has stuff to do.

We sat down in the park, close to the lake. The sun is shining bright, and we are talking about everything and nothing. Just getting to know each other better and better. "Hey, Robbie!" I recognize the voice and look around. It's the boys from earlier, but they aren't gonna hurt him this time. Robbie looks at me, fear in his eyes. "It's okay." I whisper to him, and we get up, walking away. "Who's that girl? Is she your little girlfriend?" I turn around, glaring at the boy. "Oh, shut up and leave already!" The boys walk over to us, but i'm not scared at all. "What do you want?" I spit. If they really think they can ruin our day, they are wrong. "Nothing from you, darling. But him? We have some unfinished business, don't we?" The boy is now facing Robbie. "Leave me alone.." His voice almost comes out as a whisper and the boys start laughing. "You sound like a girl!" The boy starts pushing him, Robbie falling back onto the ground. "Hey stop that!" I yell, but he ignores me. He starts punching Robbie's face, his nose and lips are starting to bleed again. He starts beating his stomache, making Robbie cough roughly. Blood escaping his mouth, dropping on the boys his clothes. "You are gonna pay for that, Kay! You can't just make my clothes dirty like that." He smirks and starts beating him again. I keep yelling, but he just ignores me, like he doesn't wanna hear me. Eventually the boy gets up. And I look at him, "How can you do such a thing!?" I almost cry. "Oh, darling. Why don't you ask him yourself? He's just paying a price for something he has done a few years ago." I frown, "You better leave, now. Or I will call the cops." The boys laugh again, but leave. I sit down next to Robbie, "Hey, i'm so sorry for this.. I promised you I would fight them.." He cuts me off, "It's okay.." I almost can't hear him, his voice is almost gone. His face and clothes are covered in blood. I shake my head, "It's not." I help him sit up, "I'm sure other people must have seen what happened and probably have called 911. I'm sure they will arrest them." He coughs again, and I pet his back, "You will be okay.. I promise." He shakes his head, "This is your fault, Diana." He managed to say between coughs, and my eyes grow wide. What?

I wake up from my phone ringing. I'm covered in sweat but I quickly pick up. "Hello?" I say, heavy breathing. "Diana!? Are you okay? I tried to call you a few times.." It was a dream, it was just a dream, thank God.. "Robbie.. I-I'm sorry, I fell back asleep.." I try to control my breath now. I look at the time, I was asleep for over an hour. "Did you fell asleep in the bath?" I hear him chuckle lightly and I let out a laugh, he did get my text. "No, no. I eventually got out and just sat on my bed, but I must have still been tired. So what's up?" I get up from my bed and walk downstairs. "I just wanted to check if you still wanted to hang out today?" He sounds so unsure, I just wanna hug him right now. "Yes, ofcourse!" I can hear him let out a sigh of relief. "The weather is pretty good outside. Maybe we could go out and have a little picnic in the park?" My smile grows big, just what I had in mind. I try to put the dream away, we are gonna have fun today. "Sounds wonderful. Where do you wanna meet up?" I get some food, fruit and a bottle of juice and put them in a bag, "In front of the park gate?" I walk outside, locking the door behind me. "On my way." I smile. "See you soon." He answers and we hang up the phone. 

When I arrive at the gate, he's already there, he waves at me, and I wave back, smiling bright. "Hey there!" I pull him into a hug. "It's good to see you." He smiles, and we walk into the park. "Wanna sit by the lake?" My smile fades, why is this going in the same direction as my dream? "Diana?" I look up, "Yea. The lake is fine." We sit down in the grass, I see he also has a bag with food etc. We empty the bags, "How are we gonna survive this?" I laugh, and he laughs too. I hand him one of my sandwiches and we both enjoy the food and the weather. "Did you make that list yet? For tomorrow?" He asks curiously. "I did, what about you?" He nods, "I did too."

After a while we clean our spot and get up, walking through the park. "When I called you, you sounded like you've had a very bad dream. Do you mind telling me what it was about?" I look up at him, not sure if I should tell him or not. "I don't know.. It was really weird." He looks at me, concern in his eyes, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." I lock arms with him as we continue walking, "Maybe later, okay?" He smiles at my action and nods. We walk towards his house. "We can walk to therapy together tomorrow?" I offer, as he unlocks his door, "I would love to." I smile, "Alright then, see you tomorrow." He looks at me, "See you tomorrow."

The rest of the evening i'm just reading in bed, time passes by fast.

-Really enjoyed today, thanks Diana. Have a good night, x Robbie.-

I smile at his text.
-Me too, we should do something again soon! And thanks, hope you have a good night too! Xx Diana.-

Not that long after I sent the text, I fall asleep.
