I DON’T OWN HETALIA, OR ANY OF ITS CHARACTERS. //sobs in a corner
Kayla yawned and stretched, her legs spread and stretching towards the television. Her father grinned and shoved the bowl of popcorn into her lap.
“Thanks.” She mumbled, lazily taking a handful of popcorn and pressing her hand to her face, swallowing each buttered treat one by one. On the screen, the man walked down the hallway cautiously, looking around. He finally reached the end of the hallway, where a cardboard box sat innocently. As he drew nearer to it, his own son popped out and shrieked like a girl. [1]
Kayla smiled a bit and so did her father, but the country cats almost emptied their bladders. Excluding Russia-cat.
America-cat hopped further up onto Kayla’s body, pawing uselessly at her hair. She was focused on the movie, only using her hand to blindly swipe at America-cat. Her hand made soft contact with his muzzle and she pushed him back.

With the movie finished and the popcorn gone, Kayla stood up and placed her hands on her hips. “That was fun~!”
“It was; sorry we couldn’t get to the last movie.” Her father gave her a lopsided smile. Kayla mirrored his expression and shrugged. “s’okay”
America-cat whimpered, burying his face into the couch cushions, “what the hell, what the hell, what the hell, WHAT THE HELL?!”
England-cat rolled his green eyes and scoffed as much as a cat could. “Idiot.”
“How scary!” China-cat whispered urgently. Russia-cat only smiled and chuckled a bit. “It was entertaining~”
“How could Ma Cherie watch something so frightening?” France-cat mourned.
Canada-cat stayed silent, as he usually did.
Kayla picked up the now empty bowl of popcorn and went into the kitchen to dump it into the sink, when she returned, she turned to her father, who nodded and smiled.
“Goodnight, sweetheart…” he mumbled, pulling her down for a brief hug. Kayla hugged her father back and let him roll away into his bedroom that down another hall way. Kayla smiled at her father’s retreating form and turned to Canada-cat, who was staring at her with wide violet eyes. She scooped him up and beckoned for the other kittens to follow as she made her way upstairs again. She stepped into her room and set Canada-cat down onto her bed as she left to brush her teeth. “Be good, Maple.”
Canada-cat blinked innocently up at her as she walked away and into the bathroom. The other country-cats knew that bedtime was fast approaching, so each feline took the liberty of claiming various sleeping spot in the room. America-cat opted for the soft swivel chair in front of Kayla’s desk. China-cat curled up on top of the desk, right on top of a sweater that was thrown carelessly. Russia-cat claimed his spot on a red bean bag seat that was placed near the windows. England-cat discovered the closet was open and found one of Kayla’s fleece blankets folded up on the floor of it, so he buried himself in that. Canada-cat stayed still, not quite sure on what to do, while France-cat did the same, only he seemed more confident of himself.
Kayla walked back into the room and climbed into bed, not bothering with gracefulness, or anything ceremonial like that. Canada-cat and France-cat flew up into the air briefly before landing back onto the soft mattress. France-cat regained his senses quicker than Canada-cat did, so he finally made up his mind on where he would sleep.
“Hey….” Kayla grumbled in a dangerous tone. The ferocity behind her words quickly died when France-cat purred and stared up at her with brilliant blue eyes. Kayla smiled weakly and let France-cat snuggle closer to her chest and much as he wanted. Canada-cat stared at Kayla’s back sadly, almost convinced she had finally forgotten about him.
Just then, Kayla turned her head to catch a glimpse of Canada-cat’s blond fur, and called him.
‘Huh?’ Canada-cat thought, blinking in confusion. Kayla called him again.
“C’mon, Maple! This is not the right way for a head to bend for too long!”
Canada-cat looked surprised for a moment before he shyly trotted over to Kayla, who moved her head back into place. Canada climbed onto the pillow where her head lay and peered curiously at her face. She looked up at him and smiled, “that’s better…”
Canada-cat curled up hesitantly above her head on the pillow, and fell asleep. Kayla gazed at Canada-cat for a little while longer before closing her own eyes and curling up.
Little did they know, a soft multicolored light would bath everyone in that room in the dead of night, exposing many truths. But the most important of those truths is…
The Polyjuice potion is something England needs to fix. [2]
