It all started when I got lost. The date was March 7, 2034, I was in the subway waiting for the next train to roll in. It was noisy, crowded and very smelly, but I couldn't do anything about a late train. I had to get to school! There was an announcement, but I didn't listen. When a beep sounded to end it, people started to panic. There was chaos as humans started to scramble for the exit. They tripped over each other, screaming in multiple languages that I didn't understand.

I looked at the holoscreen which stated that the train would not be arriving. I sighed and looked behind me. Where was everyone? I cursed myself for being so absent-minded and I tried to find the exit. Well, that was a waste of 2 dollars.

The area was littered with trash of all sorts, wrappers, paper, old newspapers. The murals on the wall were ruined and some were even on the ground. What a waste, those paintings were really nice. I walked down a tunnel full of shops and all were either abbandoned or broken.

I entered a shop called 'Kki', the shop where I purchase cakes every week. "Trix?" I shouted.

Silence.

I looked over the counter and found Trix in a contorted position with blood all over her uniform. My eyes widened at the sight and all my instincs told me to run. I scurried out of the shop pretending that I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

I turned a corner and came face to face with a human with Sedrixes sprouting out of his back. He looked at me and smiled, "Why hello there. How may. i help you?" he asked as if nothing was out of the ordinary. I did what my parents told me not to do. I screamed at the top of my lungs for help. The Sedrixia turned away in shame and walked to wherever it was going.

How was this possible? The Sedrixius virus died out 14 years ago! Would that mean that they lied to us? Did the government keep one for testing?

This was not the time to think about conspiracies. I did the most sensible thing and ran away. I ran past the empty platforms with holoscreens glowing red and warning people to stay away. I ran up a flight of stairs and past broken toll gates.

Light! I could see the exit. When I came out, I fell into darkness. The light got farther and farther until all I could see was darkness. It brushed my skin, and threatened to freeze me to death. I could not remember if I tried to scream or pray to the gods.

My eyes shot open and I was, once again, on my comfy bed with a silver insulation keeping my body warm. I tapped the foil-like blanket and it peeled off my skin, allowing me to move around. I pushed it off and sat up. It was all just a nightmare. Nothing to worry about, for nightmares were just fears haunting you in your sleep.

I snapped my fingers and the magnet under the bed pushed the insulation sheet neatly back in place. I yawned and walked over to the bathroom.

It had a toilet in the corner, a sink in front of the door, a holocabinet, an old fashioned shower located at the corner. For a reason I cannot remember, I fear mirrors therefore my parents decided to remove it from my bathroom. My classmates tease me because of it, but I don't mind them. They're just a bunch of children who cannot find anything
better to do.

I grabbed my toothbrush and squirted a bit of toothpaste onto it. At that moment, my eyes widened as I remembered, 'FUCK! I forgot to do my homework!'
