Chapter 7: Spirit
Beep! Beep!
The beeping sound of an alarm clock woke Dev up. She blinked, adjusting her eyes to the darkness, the room was cool and fresh. Dev felt the shift underneath her and it was Eli getting out of bed and turning off the alarm clock. Ami's bed looked as if there was nothing there but just a bunch of covers bunched up, Eli walked towards Ami's bed and pulled the covers over to see a small sleeping body.
"Ami, wake up," Eli yawned as she spoke. Dev had climbed down to the bottom of the bunk bed, she walked towards her closet to see her uniform. It was a white shirt with a sky blue blazer and a sky blue and white stripped tie and a black skirt. Eli shook her head and sighed.
"Are you going to use the bathroom first or should I?" Eli asked.
"Uh. You go ahead I need to check my schedule first," Dev grabbed her uniform and moved towards her desk so that Eli could go to the bathroom. She sat at her desk with shaking knees, she didn't need to check her schedule since she had already checked it about a dozen times over the weekend. Dev looked over Ami, who had fallen back asleep. The sound of a shower running made Dev lost her train of thought. Dev stared at the clock it was 7:28 a.m, breakfast was at 8 a.m and classes started at 9 a.m and school ended at 3 p.m.
The bathroom door swung open, Eli had a towel wrapped around her body and hair.
"Your turn," Dev looked over at Ami.
"Don't worry about her, Ami doesn't like taking showers in the morning because of her long hair. She took one last night." Now that Dev remembered, Ami did have long hair that went down to her hips. The past two days, Dev hadn't seen Ami or Eli in the dorm.
"Oh okay." Dev got up and walked towards the bathroom, it was small with a small white sink and a large mirror that could be open. There was no bathtub but just the shower and a glass door, Dev stepped in the shower and let the water run down her body, she grabbed her shampoo that made her hair smell like honeysuckle. It was a quick shower since that was just how Dev was. She loved mornings, they made her feel so alive and so new. As if she could do anything she wanted to do. Dev tried to towel dry hair the best she could as she brushed her teeth and washed her face with a facial cleaner for the morning. Dev got dressed in the bathroom and the uniform fitted her body perfectly, she pulled some tights on and got her black vans on.
When Dev opened the door to the room, Eli was gone. Dev quickly blow dried her hair and it fell straight down to her jaw. Fear rushed into Dev, she didn't remember how to get to the dinning room or to her first class and neither of her roommates were here. Dev heard the bathroom door shut behind her. It was 7:48, Dev rushed to do her makeup, she kept it simple with thin eyeliner and a small amount of mascara and a pink nude lipstick. The bathroom door opened again and it was Ami standing there, her lips went to a straight line.
"Did Eli really ditch you?"
"I don't know, maybe she thought I knew my way to the-"
"So? Who were you going to sit next to?" Dev thought about, she didn't really think about that. Ami walked over to her desk and she did her makeup as well, she winged out her eyeliner and put on a reddish lip stain and she curled her thick long lashes out and put mascara on even though Dev didn't think she needed it. Ami was stunning despite her small size she had nice thick tone legs.
