Chapter 8: Myth
Ami had waited for Dev in the dinning room but she wasn't showing up, she began to worry wondering if Dev had gotten lost. Another minute had past and Dev still wasn't here. Ami got up from her chair and marched towards Eli.
"Where's Dev?" there were a group of nephilim that stared back at Ami, some in awe and others in disgusted.
"How should I know?" Ami rolled her eyes, only the King knew how much she hated high school and petty students like Eli.
"Victoria isn't here and I know she has something to do with Dev-" something rushed through Ami, it was fear. It wasn't her but something inside told her to run towards to the quad.
"Put me down!" Ami heard Dev shout and she saw Victoria holding Dev up in the air upside down, Dev was blushing hard, suddenly Ami was thankful Dev wore dark tights on her first day. There was a group of students circling around them. One of Victoria's friend held their hand up laughing along with Victoria before anyone could even do anything, Ami had pulled out a dagger and aimed at the student's hand. There was a cry and bright red blood dripped on the ground, Dev fell towards the ground and Victoria looked at Ami.
"Halfings don't belong here," Victoira stated.
"Are you the King?" Ami snapped.
"What? No why would-"
"Then shut up, or are you going against the King's wishes?"
"There is a law that says halfings go to a different-"
"There is no such law, the elders created that rule. Only the King writes the laws and they have already been written."
"But its a rule!"
"So your saying we should follow a rule men have created despite the fact Dev's mark is filled?" Murmur broke out between the students.
"Listen here pretty princess you may know the laws and rules but you are still living in your sister's shadow. A traitor's shadow." Ami launched herself towards Victoria. Purple flames clashed with red ones, Victoria was slower than Ami and before Ami could deliver the final blow, the earth underneath her began to sink. Eli was making the earth sink.
A roar came from the woods in front of everyone. Everyone had stopped what they were doing and everyone's mark began to glow a bright red.
"But that's impossible," Eli murmured. A small student had come out the woods screaming, they couldn't be older than 12 and a giant shaped dog came from the woods knocking everything out of the way.
A hellhound. It was at least 10 feet tall with black fur and burning red eyes. It was running towards the quad. Another air student had fled over towards the kid picking them off the ground and towards the sky where the hellhound couldn't reach them. Ami picked up her dagger and ran towards the beast. She lifted herself up the ground with fire underneath her shoes, the hellhound let out a growl that knocked her towards the ground. It leaped over to devour Ami but she rolled on her side and let out her purple flames onto the beast. It didn't seem phased by the flames and she made her hand into a fist making the flames burn even more.
