- Tegan's Point of View -
We walked a long way, just talking about random stuff that pops into our heads, and we eventually came to the little Hoqui. A small river that ran through the town. I sat down in the grass and hung my bare feet in the water, splashing them back and forth.
"So that's why you went barefoot." Ken observed.
"Nein, I just like going barefoot."
"Was ist das?" (What is this?) I asked, squatting down to look at a piece of colored glass.
Sometimes the German would slip out, but most the time Ken just ignored it. In the beginning he would ask me what I meant, but now he sort of pieced it together.
"A piece of glass." He answered, leaning down to look at it.
"No I meant, THIS!" And I shoved him into the water.
As he crashed into the water white spray flew everywhere, including on me. He broke through the surface and I burst out in laughter.
"Alright you win. Now give me your hand."
I was an idiot enough to try helping him out. As soon as he grabbed hold of my hand he pulled me in, with all the strength he could muster. Which, I might add, was a lot. I crashed into the blue liquid and I was under for a split second, before I myself lifted my head above the surface of the water. Now it was Ken's turn. He threw his head back and started to laugh hysterically, so I sprayed him with at least a buckets worth of water. He spluttered and spat the water out of his mouth, taking his turn at me. Instead of spraying me with water, he grabbed my arm and jerked it forward, sending me flying through the air and crashing back into the water.
"That's not fair." I said as soon as I swam back up again.
"Oh yes it was. You asked for it."
"But you're twice my size."
"I can't help that." He shrugged.
I immediately swung at him, forcing him to lean to the other side, where my other fist was waiting.
"Hey!" He said as my hand crashed into his rib cage.
"Somebody needed to burst your bubble."
Just then he flipped me over his shoulder and carried me in a sort of a piggy back ride to the ramp where we walked back onto land. I jumped off his back and we fell in the grass.
"We get soaked even when it isn't raining." I observed.
"Haha, so true. I guess we just can't help it." Ken laughed.
I fell back on the grass and just lay there for a while, looking up at the blue sky.
"You know, we always seem to do the same things. We always take walks and always get soaked on those walks." I eventually said.
"Maybe it's because we like to take walks and get soaked."
"Huh, yeah that would make sense...Well, we'd better get back home."
So, in our sopping wet clothes, we trudged home, strait through the front door. Maria takes a look at us and then glances at the window.
"It's not even raining!" She says.
"You don't think a little thing like that would stop us, did you?" I said.
Then we laughed and walked in, fetching a couple of towels so we could sit down without getting the couch sopping wet. Since it was Saturday we watched a movie. Another comedy, to be precise. It was called 'The Court Jester', with Danny Kaye. We laughed through the whole thing, even though we had seen it probably a million times. Then after that we popped some popcorn and popped in a movie that Maria wanted to watch, called 'The Magnificent Seven'. It was western and not a comedy, but still a very good movie. My favorite characters were Britt and Bernardo. They're so cool. During the movie Ken and me threw popcorn at each other and tried catching it with our mouths. Yeah, that's what we were like.
- Okay, nothing really exciting in this chapter, I know, but I just felt like writing random stuff. So I did :D LOL XD. I hope you liked it and if you did, votes and comments are appreciated. Thanks :D - Anna
