I open my eyes to the sight of the sun shining through trees. I suddenly remember what happened and quickly sit up in a panic. I look around for the creatures that have been haunting me but all I see is forest. Where am I? I brush all the twigs and leaves off of me. Am I dead? Oh my god! I'm dead! No. I'm too young! I still have my whole life ahead of me.
Then all of a sudden there's rustling in the bushes. I step back cautiously. It followed me hear.
Then in a flash there's a little light flying around me. It comes inches from my face. I rub my eyes, thinking that I'm imagining things, "there's fairies in my afterlife?" "afterlife?" I jump at the second voices sudden appearance. I spin around quickly only to come face to face with a young looking boy with red hair and what looked to be elf ears? And he's floating?!
"who are you? And where am I?" I say taking a few steps away from the strange floating elf boy, the leaves and twigs crunching beneath my dirty sneakers. " I'm Peter!" he says with a childish smile, showing off his dimples "And your in neverland!" he shouts whizzing through the air.
Neverland? No. This can't be. I can't be in Peter Pan. I think back to the last thing that happened in the library. I grabbed ahold of the book and I started disappearing. Oh wow. I'm in the book.
Peter flys close to my face studying me with confusion, "who are you? And where did you come from?" "well my name is Katherine" I think about his next question. I don't really know how to answer that. "and I don't really know where I came from. Well I do know, but I don't really know how I got here" Peter looked unsatisfied and confused with my answer.
But it didn't last long, because soon his confused faced was replaced with an adorable smile and eyes filled with innocence and joy. He grabs ahold of my hand and starts pulling me forward. I dig my heels into the ground unsure of what he's trying to do. He turns around looking confused again, "what's the matter? Don't you know how to fly?" "no!" I give him a duh look.
He gives me a look making me feel like the most strange person because I don't know how to fly. Then his face lights up as if a brilliant idea just came to him, "Tink!" he yells. Then the little fairie comes flying over to Peter. He grabs her in his hand and shakes her above my head dropping golden dust over me. He releases a very angry looking tinker bell and flies closer to me, grabbing both my hands, " Now think of a happy thought" I close my eyes and think of the time when my life was normal and I was being haunted by strange scary creatures, I wasn't having nightmares, and I wasn't traveling into Peter pan. "your doing it!" I quickly open my eyes hearing the voice of the young boy and to my amazement I am doing it. I'm floating! Peter begans pulling me along. It takes me a little while to get the hang of it but I'm a pro in no time.
I fly alongside Peter, flying through the clouds and feeling the wind in my face. I have to be dreaming. This is all way too crazy!
As I'm flying, smiling and laughing along side Peter. Then I remember my family. They must be going crazy. And instead of being happy, I'm sad.
Then just like that I stop flying and instead I'm falling. I scream and peter comes zooming towards me, his arms are outstretched reaching for me. But he's not fast enough and suddenly I'm surrounded by water, choking. I start paddling up, my lungs are burning and I need air. I finally reach the surface, coughing and choking, trying to bring air back into my lungs. I feel hands grab my arms and hoist me up, "Thank you Peter" I look up, but I don't see peters kind eyes instead I see cold eyes. " I am most certainly not Peter" he says with a laugh that chills me to the core. Hook.
