After I found my dagger and flew straight back to heaven. The next 4 days were possible the worst 4 days of my life. Everything made me paranoid. What if someone saw me leave heaven? Maybe someone saw me in the forest and if so did they see me kissing the devil? I couldn't think straight. All I could think about was Toby. Why did he do that? And why did I do it back?
"Hey Elizabeth, are you okay?" asked Logan.
Logan and I grew up together. Both of our parents are really close friends so obviously we were as well.
"Yeah I'm fine. Just thinking," I said nervously.
"Okay, just making sure. You look different," Logan said looking at my face, "your either flushed or your blushing. Are you feeling okay?"
I started to panic, "Yeah I'm good. Feeling better than ever," I chuckle.
He looked at me weirdly and then walked away. After he left I started to panic a bit more. This entire time I've been blushing while I was thinking about what happened in the forest. I have to stop. If anyone finds out I kissed the devil, I'll fall for sure.
Even though my probation time isn't up yet, I thought I would just go and talk to the other soldiers and see what the meeting in the forest was about. I fly to base but when I got there, there was no one in sight. I looked around trying to find at least someone but no luck.
I eventually found a building that had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. I peeped through the window to see what was going on. Heaven's top angels were having a meeting. Before I was able to duck my head, Kaleb saw me. He asked to be excused and then walked out to talk to me.
"What do you think your doing? You can't be wandering around and spying on our meeting," he ordered.
"I'm sorry sir but where is everyone? And why are you having a meeting with the top angels?" I ask.
He looks around before answering,"We're having a meeting because a few of our angels yesterday caught a couple of demons saying that the devil is roaming around Earth."
My eyes widen. Crap, crap, crap, crap. Does he know? No maybe not. I think he would have had me fallen by now. Time to lie.
"Satan is roaming Earth?" I say shockingly.
"Yes. We're trying to figure out a plan of attack if him being on Earth gets a little to out of hand. Chaos happens whenever he's around. We can't have the people of Earth in chaos." He replies.
I remember the last time the Earth was in chaos. I think they called it an earthquake or something like that. Or maybe it was a hurricane. Not sure which one.
"I need to get back to the meeting," he said walking away but right before he walked through the door he added,"Just this once I'll let you off probation early."
I smiled happily but then the happiness went away. Satan being here is so bad that they're planning an attack. I didn't like the idea of Toby dying. I didn't like it at all. For some reason I felt the need to protect him.
I flew up to the library and snuck to one of the computers. I watched Toby's videos again. Do you think he remembers making these things? I again stare at his picture and smile. I walk out the back room and immediately run into someone.
"I'm so sorry," I whisper.
" It's alright dear," an elderly voice replies.
It's one of the angel's elders, Ruby. The elders have been around since the beginning of time. They use to go on missions and do orders when they were in their prime, but now angels come to them when they need advice.
She laid her hand under my chin and lifted up my head. I looked up at her and she stared right into my eyes. She stared at them so long that it was starting to get a bit weird.
"My dear. You have imprinted." Ruby said with a joyful smile.
I looked at her with a confused look,"Imprinted? What's that?"
She set her hands on my shoulders and laughed. She walked down an aisle and pulled a book off one of the shelves. Ruby came back and sat me down at a table. She sat across from me and started flipping through the pages. Finally she stopped and turned the book towards me.
"Everyone is born with a soulmate but they normally aren't easy to find. Some take years to find their other half. Others never find them. If your lucky enough to have found one another, this feeling kicks in. You need one another. You can't live without the other. If your feeling like you need to have the other one to survive, then you found your soulmate. That sensation is called being imprinted," she explained,"and you have the look."
She held my hand and smiled at me,"I'm glad you found your special angel."
I smiled till she walked away. I slammed my head against the table. Special angel huh. Please. There's nothing angelic about him.
