I decided to go and find Toby. I felt the need to see him. A bunch of angels gathered in Long Beach, Washington so I figured he was there.  I would have to stay low so the other angels wouldn’t see me. I run through the woods trying to figure out where he would be. I ended up on a beach staring into the everlasting Pacific Ocean. I stop to admire the view. I’ve seen the ocean so many times, but I never actually stopped to soak in the beautiful scenery.

“Beautiful isn’t it,” Toby whispered into my ear, “Just like you.”

I smiled and turned around slowly. “Well, look who’s here,” I giggled, “I’ve been looking for you.”

“Well if you haven’t noticed, I have some angels on my ass,” he chuckled, “I had to go into hiding.”

I stroked his hair, “I know. As long as you lay low, they’ll think that you’re not here and leave.”

He chuckled quietly and then carefully pulled me close. I could hear his heart beating. The more I think about Toby the more I realize that other demons might be like him. This entire time I’ve killed demons, I thought that they felt nothing and just did cruel things. They have feelings. They can experience love and happiness. They’re practically just like us.

He picked me up and tackled me to the ground. I loved feeling his body close to mine. I pulled his head in and kissed him. I slightly gripped his back. His hands slowly made his way down to my hips. We started to really get into it; we passionately kissed on the beach. Then, all of a sudden, we heard twigs snapping in the distance. We stopped and listened.

Toby sighed and then chuckled, “We have to do this more often.”

I looked at him and then laughed. He started laughing with me. If only we were human, it wouldn’t matter if we were together or not. People wouldn’t care. If we were human, we could finally have peace and quiet together. But were not and we have to deal with angels and demons not getting along.

“If only we had more time,” I sighed.

Toby kissed me one more time before we got up, “We’ll have time to do this again,” he said smirking.

Off in the distance I could hear angels yelling. They were yelling about hearing voices on the beach. Toby grabbed my hand and started running down the beach. We were giggling as we were running through the waves crashing against the shore. For the first time, I felt free. We reached the end of the beach where the woods meets the sand. Toby kissed my cheek and said goodbye before running off into the woods.

I flew off to hover over the ocean, a good twenty miles off of shore. I hate hiding. I feel like a coward hiding from everyone. I want to just be with Toby without someone having a problem with it. After 10 minutes of looking towards shore, I decided to head back to heaven. There were barely any angels there. Everyone was out searching for the devil.

I was about to fly back to the cabin when Kaleb stopped me. Like always my dad looked angry but for some reason he looked concerned as well.

“Elizabeth, I need to have a talk with you,” he explained.

I didn’t say anything. I just waited for him to continue. It looked like he was doubling thinking what he was about to say. I started to freak out. What was he trying to say? Did someone see something in Washington?

“Logan told me what you asked him yesterday. About someone who could be in enough trouble to fall. Were you actually talking about someone? Do we need to have them sent to higher authority?” he questioned me.

I didn’t like where this was going, “No I was just wondering what he would do. We’re really good friends and I was just wondering what he would do in that kind of situation.”

He looked at me with a concerned look, “Were you talking about yourself? What would happen if you had to fall,” Kaleb’s voice became angry, “Is there something I should know?”

That look, I know that look far to well. That’s his disappointed face. He knows something’s wrong, “No it has nothing to do with me. I’m perfectly fine.”

He looked at me with an ‘I know your lying’ look. He stood up and walked away from me. He knows I’m lying. He knows I’m hiding something and it makes me uneasy. As much as I wanted to tell someone about Toby, I didn’t want it to be my dad. I feel like it’s going to be harder to see Toby now. He’s probably going to have angels keep a close eye on me now. He’s forgetting one thing though. I’ve been trained as a warrior. I know his tricks and plans. He won’t be able to pull a fast one on me.
