'Hey Brookie!', Jessica cried from the other corner of the cafeteria. Brooklyn ran upto her and motioned to me to wait for a minute. 'Hurry up, I don't have all day', I said. Jessica started fllirting and he flirted back, and I started to get angrier.... and hungrier. After what seemed like a million years he finally walked upto me. 'Hey', he high fived,
'I was wondering..'
'Spit it out', I said sternly.
'Okay here it is, would you like to join the school soccer team?
'OF COURSE'
'You'd be the only girl, we are one player short'
'I don't care' I really didn't.
'There'll be a lot of practicing.'
'Even better'
'Okay then, you go champ!'
'Wait is this why you were calling me late night yesterday, you douche?' I said smiling.
'Uh, kinda yeah... nevermind' He was hiding something.
'So when do we practice?'
'In the summer break, of course'
'Uh, I kinda have something planned at that time.'
'Alaska right? You'll see.'
'Um, alright?'
'See ya babe'
'Uh, no thanks, bye'
The lunch bell rang.
'What is this I didn't even eat!'
Mark came and handed me a tray. It had fruits, pancakes and milk. 'You're welcome'. I was very happy for some time. Soccer team, now that is something.
The some time didn't last very long. I met Joy in the hallway. Yes, JOY. And not the regular, smiling Joy. Joy, whose face was smeared with tears. I ran upto her and asked her what happened. She shoved me and ran away. I was taken aback. I did not see that coming.
